So i call my credit card company today to pay off my maxed out card , and they only have the other one on hand that i didnt max out , but was still never paid. My maxed card just disappeared from their database. Fishy... So i call the collection agency they hand it over to and he says "u owe x amount , tell u what i'll pay this , u go to western union send me x amount (20 less than the actual amount) and i';ll take care of it on my end" Hm...fishy again... Im taking this as a blessing from God , but its still fishy sounding...what do you think? I dont wanna send all that money off only to have it disappear like my delinquent credit card did....

Retain an attorney for this matter. It sounds like it could get messy and legal representation may be in your best interest. Debt does not just dissapear.
At the very lease get a written statement from the credit card company that you owe nothing that is signed and dated. Afterwards, get it notorized.
If the company says you owe nothing, the collection agency obviously has no reason to collect so you could disregard their threats.
If they argue, present a notorized copy of the statement that you owe zero, and if they attempt to contact you beyond that point to please direct all correspondance to your attorney OR tell them you will take legal action.

Also, make sure to obtain a current copy of your credit report. If there are no collections listed, whoever is trying to collect from you is actually trying to scam you. Your credit report will also list all your current and closed credit cards, which will help you get to the bottom of this.

well , i cant afford an attorney , i went to the credit report site and they had all kinds of accounts on there. I reported one that i had no idea was open , which i proble shouldnt have did since it was the only good one there....The one in question was on there. the lady told me if it was on there then i was supposed to call some Credit verification team or something. I think they are just trying to set me up and get my new address and where im working and everything now.

If its on your credit report, it exists somewhere.
Keep a hard copy of that, call the CC co. back up and tell them you have your credit report and can fax it over or w/e.
If they still deny you owe anything, i'd tell the collection people to call the CC co.

the the credit card company deal with it. explain your end, and tell them if i don't owe you money, i don't pay anything.
certainly sounds like your getting played. trust was lost many years ago.
