She's wearing the vest to distinguish her from the other puppies who looked like her on the transport up here, so that the right ones went to the right houses 
Also - to whoever mentioned the runt of the litter - Abby is the runt, and I think we're keeping her. She's smaller than everyone else by at least a pound and 1/2.

Just wanted to add some more pics to this thread We went to the dog park yesterday with MOTH, her hubby, her dogs, and our pups - had a blast! So did the dogs Abby is the only puppy left at our house now, and I'm pretty sure she's not ever leaving. She's a great dog. I think she's still getting used to the New England weather vs the Tennessee weather she's used to - poor thing was freezing at the park yesterday!! Here are some pics -

She's about 12 weeks old now. Still has her sharp little puppy teeth! Dogs are a blast

Good luck! What breed are you going to look for? Dogs are definitely a lot of work, but so rewarding to have. Puppies are especially difficult, at least until they're housebroken. Abby's a smart little pup though - so far I've taught her sit, down, and stay. Tomorrow we'll work on "cook me dinner".

i'd like to get a bulldog or like a labrador mix my sister just got a stafordshire bull terrier that is really fun. i'm not too set on any breed though whatever jumps out at me i guess.

fiasco, let me know if you end up getting a dog! Lab mixes are always fairly easy to train and typically have great temperaments. We almost always request the labs and lab mixes to foster here because they're almost always really easy going, loyal, and food motivated, making them easy to train
