Yea i wouldnt advise putting shrooms into boiling water, if you want to make a tea, let the water cool down a bit before adding shrooms. I find a good tea has even better effects than eating them.

Yeah for high doses I only take it in a tea or something, because eating too many of things reaaaally upsets your stomach to say the least.

If you want to avoid an upset stomach, fresh ginger works wonders. Me and some mates did about 6g dry each the other weekend, we followed every dose with some ginger plus 2 paracetamol's at the start of the night and there were no significant issues. Comparing that to the result a few weeks before when i did 3g without ginger and had the shits for a week (plus agonizing cramps after the trip), i would say its pretty damn good!
I would say there is another few weeks of good shroomin - this season started great but the rain just hasnt persisted here. Im pretty disappointed that my stash is nothing compared to what i had at the end of last season.
I will definitely have to try that tea tho, do you throw out the mushies and just drink the broth?

Hey can anyone help identify these for me? Im a newbie and im not sure if these are active or not, dont think they are but not too sure.
Found in central/west auckland amongst pine needles, most from the same spot except the two tall, skinny gold ones on the left Cheers

The two gold ones, def. not active.
The others do not look active, but post some closer pics - its kinda hard to tell. Is there any bluing? What color are the gills?

So i went hunting for some subs today. Walked around for about 3hrs just chillin. I didn't do too bad either found a few new patches and found just under 100g fresh.
So i got back to the car quite happy with myself, started the engine and looked out the window and i shit you not there was a patch of subs about 2 freaken meters away with easily double what i just found. I didnt pick them as i had my quota and it was kind of a dodgy spot... just left them for some one else that isnt as flippin blind as me.

Freezing fresh/wet mushrooms is about the best way to kill their potency. Give it a shot but i wouldnt expect much.

The Psylocibian in mushrooms, although breaking down under heat hot enough to boil water, only happens when the mushrooms are heated for a resonable amount of time, it is possible to boil mushrooms and make tea, but I only recommend simmering for 2 minutes, like ze noodles!

The psilocybin & psilocin actually oxidizes, when its exposed to air it breaks down. Thats why damaging the skin results in bluing. Heat only acts as a catalyst in this reaction. Freezing shrooms damages the protective cells, basically 'spilling the guts' of the cells - allowing O2 to come into contact with the psilocybin & psilocin contained inside. This results in the goop of decaying shroom cells and the 'blue water' of oxidized psilocybin & psilocin that OP experienced.

hmm yea I don't personally boil em up that was just someone I knew. If I'm making a tea I make it using hot water.
Sorry don't have pics or anything, they've all been eaten. I can tell you tho that the less potent ones were more of a browner colour and had more of a skinnier stem (I think)and found in some sort or orchard.
Now that I think about it and take a look at the subs I got the other day they are different. Perhapes they are aucklandii, hence being more of a darker brown that a golden yellow??

Hey found these in woodchip/flax gardens. Young ones gave black sporeprint (kinda brownish must basically black.) Old crusty ones didn't give sporeprint.. But fairly sure it's just those young ones all grown up. Sorry i didn't get the stalks in the photo, they were white and pretty thin on the young ones, gone brown on the old ones. No sign of blue bruising though.
So yeh, whaddayareckon
PS Why can't we upload pictures onto the site =[

What makes you say that though? Right gills, sporeprint, stalk right? It's the shape that's a bit off as far as I can tell, but that's why I'm asking ^^

hey dude the stalks won't go brown on the old ones unless they are super dry. also you should definitly see some blueing on the stalks .the gills don't look dark enough to me also the caps are too much of an orangy colour the shape well it varies on how old the shroom is to sorry dude maybe you'll have better luck next time
