No, it was in Karori. I also found these close by. They look almost similar but appear to have slightly thinner edges on top, a waxier top and a thinner stalk. Also they seem to bruise more black than blue. Anybody know whether these are likely to be a variation of the same type plus active?

CanadianKiwi said: Hi, Can I please get some dose advise from locals that have used Auckland or NZ Psilocybe subaeruginosa...
I have tried dried weights below, on 4 seperte occasions, over a month:
0.7g = no effect 1.0g = no effect 2.0g = no effect (friend tried same batch 2.0g and went to SATURN, almost level 3.75 effects(one scale 1-4), SAME BATCH, this is all DRIED blended and homogenious)
From my experience, the ruff guideline as follows, assuming that all the doses have been powderized from a well preserved batch, mixed with lemon juice and shoted down on an empty stomach.
0.5 gram - Threashold dose 1.0 gram - Nice mild level 2 dose 1.5 gram - Good solid moderate dose, can be very strong on peak and on certain situations. 2.0 gram - A pretty sure strong dose, you wanna be somewhere comfortable! Can reach pretty intense levels. 2.5gram - This dose would flaten me, melt my ego away and leave me wide open to the universe. 2.5gram+ - Heroic dose!

hey kiwis, i'm from australia but i have rellies in NZ and visit there quite a bit. never done any hunting there but am interested when i go later in the year.
when does your season start and finish? i spend most of my time in christchurch, reefton and wanganui. can anyone confirm actives from these areas? i dont need locations, as i know what to look for in likely spots, but i don't want to waste my time if there's little/no chance.
cheers

Hi there, I need some help. Today a friend and I went for a picnic in the Waitakere Ranges and stumbled across a few different species if mushrooms... Some look like Psilocybe Aucklandii, and some i can't identify. Some are blue button tops with white stalks, some seem blue and gold mixed but kinda stained etc...
How do I post the pics i took of them?
Please write back someone, Cheers

The coromandel is boosting up all over the place. Picked over 80 small Psylocibe Subs at the swampy area in a small group of trees behind a rugby field, and at an "old pub" being torn down I found around 20 Psylocibe Austriliani

Hey, the mushies in your first pic are inactive. The others are really strange, i cant safely give you any answer on them, i would wait till the user Inski comes back on, or you could PM him - hes a very onto it shroomer. Did you notice any bluing on the stalks? The blue caps looks very odd.
Good luck!

Arrests prompt magic mushroom warning Home » News » Dunedin By Debbie Porteous on Thu, 8 May 2008 News: Dunedin
Naive and inexperienced people should be wary of the consequences of using magic mushrooms, both health-wise and legally, Dunedin police say.
The comment followed the arrests of four people, two young men aged 19 and 20 and two 17-year-old girls, who were charged with possessing a Class A drug after they were caught picking magic mushrooms in Brockville Park in Dunedin yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken said the group was caught with a quantity of the mushrooms in plastic bags after a member of the public noticed them picking the fungi about 7.30am and called the police.
People needed to be aware that magic mushrooms contained an active ingredient called psilocybin, which could have some ‘‘extremely bad side-effects'' on the taker, ‘‘including death'', Snr Sgt Aitken said.
‘‘People think 'cool, it's free, I'll try it', but the risks really outweighs the pleasure or the benefit.''
Possessing a Class A drug could also result in a six-month jail term or a fine of up to $1000, he said.
Magic mushrooms only grew for a few months, about this time of year. Each year, police dealt with about 20 people, either caught picking the mushrooms or selling them.
The maximum penalty for selling a Class A drug was life imprisonment.
The four people arrested were granted bail. Their case will come before the Dunedin District Court next week.

yeah people get busted picking liberties in those suburban Dunedin parks every year better off taking to the hills away from people I reckon
hey zee_werp - did you see this post?
possibly interesting shrooms?
some of those ones in the photo at the top look like they have white stems/blue bruising (not the ones with orange spores), picked from a thick patch of manuka in the lower north island.. its pretty pointless to chase it up but interesting nonetheless...
off to south east asia soon, gonna be interesting hunting over there!

hey Pihablondies i would say all of those shrooms you picked are inactive and i wouldn't eat them the one thing that stares me away from them being active is how big the stalks are and that there doesn't seem to be any blue bruising at all after you have picked them i think i mite have to give the waitakaries a go this saturday never looked there before anybody got a a recomendation on a good place to start there as it is obviously a huge place

Yeah, I once was a jonny mushy spore. Try the pipeline, out titirangi ways. I laid many a few spores there.
Failing that, the walk around chinamans hill, near greylynn, by the motorway, or meola reef - the walk.
heaps, bro, heaps. Too many to go around.
I find that these days, I dont even need to spore the world, they follow me round. Guess they like me or somethin'
Maybe we just have an understanding?
