Thats the case most likely.
Some of the best growers dont care about that shit and they just buy the best seed, and then find out later that a certain strain is the tastiest and sometimes even the most potent.
Believe it or not, I have seen many pictures of stuff called g-13(just called "g-13"), and its all the same and you can tell even though some is clearly grown better than others.
Outdoor g-13 looks alot different than indoor.
Outdoor is the best IMO.
G-13 is just a name, and some good guy/guys out there gave a name to a most supreme strain.
They called it g-13.
That is the most likely scenario.
These folks know their shit, so either there is a connection to the creation of the name, or its just another REALLY amazing strain.
I dont care.
G-13 is very real even if it has no connection to the root name.
AND it is up there with the best and if grown a certain way outdoor style, is the best weed I have ever smoked only by a small fraction.
It smells like oranges and a strong hash plant.
So tasty that it hardly smells like the typical super dank weed.
It smells heavenly.
Fruity to the max.
However, there are different versions.
It probably depends on the "version", or the person who grew it.
The version seems pretty consistent in cali, but none are as good as my cousin's outdoor g-13.
Its unreal.
Collecting kief results in a bright green ball of ridiculousness.
(hand hash after trimming a few pounds with clean hands)

well, i know that i heard in california, you can get a license to grow for 2 medical patience, i don't know if i'll ever move to cali, but i'd try that out if i could.

Id rather just grow my own I could care less about having a card. Yes its nice to pick from a bunch of strains and yes its nice that its legal if you have a card but fuck paying 60-75-80$ an 1/8. Payin that much would put a big damper on my high everytime.

You would think this, if you hadn't actually done any research on cannabis.
Ever smoked bud that's been grown too long? The high is different, way more indica couch-lock to it. This is because when the flowering process was allowed to continue past the best harvest time, more and more THC breaks down and gets converted to other cannabinoids like CBD and CBN. These cannabinoids aren't active themselves, but have been shown to alter the effect of THC on the brain. This is the same reason that bud that's been stored for too long (even if it's cured right) loses potency; the THC keeps slowly converting to other more stable cannabinoids as hydrolysis (aka curing) continues. It's also one of the reasons (besides no flushing) that schwag just makes you tired or gives you a headache.
So really 'inactive' means that it doesn't get you high in its own right, but it still effects what the active chemical is doing. If you don't believe me, take bud from a plant that was harvested early, then normally, then late and tell me if there isn't a noticeable difference in the high from each.
