cobweb mold on mushrooms or aerial mycelia (with pics)
    #8098471 - 03/03/08 04:57 PM (16 years, 28 days ago)

Hey everyone I have a few pics I'd like reviewed. I have some sort of hairy mycelia growing on these shrooms and was wondering if it is cobweb, in the pics there appears to be green spots on the cake . I'm not sure why this is because in real life the areas appear white Grey perhaps and the purple/ red is the spores that have already dropped. the hair has no black heads and is not grayish on the shrooms it is very white. any help would be appreciated.

The fuzz is normal. Those are ready to harvest.

Can't tell about the green. If it's bruising, it will look like a bruise on your skin, only blue. If it's mold, it will look like green powder sprinkled on the surface.

I appreciate the response RR , I went ahead and harvested them and took a really good look at the cake and it was indeed bruising. Just the first time i've seen the fuzz. a little paranoid i suppose. Thanks again.
