the value of people in the grand of it all...

i feel no loyalty to people as a species in the sense it is just a form of life. i definitely value life and its existence just not this worry of the eventual demise of humans as a species as life will go on in one form or another.
i get the idea that the thought of people becoming extinct bothers some and i just do not get it.
this does pose questions to my view on reality though and my views on spirituality and such... How to interpret the universe without man's eye, life and it's passing... im sure animals are self aware and have emotion(which i feel is the whole point of it all, emotions) but it seems very much sad that, though the squirming churning pass of species and time is beautiful and perfect, without the ability to look upon it and say wow, it loses a bit of splender...god/we see the world through man's eye and give it meaning.
and i suppose it would all be cool if there were other species evolved with such intelligence but i find it odd that there are animals which have been around since the time of dinosaurs who haven't changed a bit and would assume that eventually all animals would learn to speak, write, build, etc...so perhaps there is some importance to man, just seems so narcissistic.

i agree with you completely, history has been marked by many major extinctions and it is bound to happen again. i value life in the relationships and enjoyment I have now but if we all die off it is how it is we are just part of a much bigger and complicated process of the environment and then universe and I think people should remember that.

I'm not worried about man's extinction, because our death would clearly be better for the Earth/Universe. We're a plague here, we keep multiplying, burning through the Earth's precious resources, slowly hunting other species of life to extinction, poisoning the water, the land, the air, etc etc etc. We are all that is wrong with this place, and as long as we don't completely destroy it on our way out (which is entirely possible, maybe even probable), our exit will be the best thing that's happened to this planet in ages.

we are important, we're just so ignorant of it, we have the ability to recognize what we've called god!
animals are no less important as they do what they can do...
we're all the same thing essentially, humans are brilliant beings with such ability, theyre exploring life to its depths & beyond!
i used to be attached to humanity & wanna be all about its survival into millenias beyond...the space program etc... but now i realise in the grand scheme of things, time is an illusion, as is the time humans have...

I would actually love to see the end of the human race... Just so it would end my questions on how it will all end. It really doesn't bother me that the human race is going to die off. I am just really curious on how it will all end. I really hope its in my lifetime.. Later preferably.

I can see that. I'm curious myself. I'm also curious as to how I will end.
