My friend, Don Quixote just got an order of WTS Nutri-Boom!
It looks and feels great... through the bag at least. It is heavy and hydrated!
The packaging is quite sturdy. No visible contams. It looks very much like the pics posted above.
Don's first impression is quite positive. His only minor quibble? No filter patch... but Don isn't exactly sure how important a filter patch really is in this case... he just likes looking at patches. He's an odd guy, that Don Quixote.
WTS passed the first test. They shipped quickly. Unlike some... ahem... other poo vendors I could mention...
Don has a few other tests in mind. He wants to put this shit through the ringer. Keep an eye out... perhaps Don will post his results.
So far though, it looks like Don got THE SHIT!!!
If you need pre-pasteurized substrate, I can see no reason why you shouldn't give these guys a try.
Don also suggests a new WTS slogan:
We're The Shit's horse shit is the shit. Why is it the shit? We're The Shit's horse shit is the shit... 'cause We're The Shit's horse shit is shat... from the asses of champions!

Here's some pics of the product i received from WTS.
100% Hpoo

Nutri-Bloom

Product was shipped on the 12th and arrived on the 14th or the 15th (USPS stuck it in a weird spot so i don't know the exact date) so their shipping is ultra fast.
At first glance the nutri bloom appeared to be way too wet, there were puddles of water in the corners of the bags. However i don't know the cause of the problem as when i snapped the pics a few mins ago i could only see a few drops. So either some moisture from temp changes built up in the bag or some water was squeezed out during the vacuum process. Either way most of it seems to have absorbed back into the substrate. IMO it still looks a bit too wet for use but only practical application will tell for sure.
So far so good WTS, hopefully your product works as well as you can ship it.
I'll be starting a grow log too, right now im debating whether or not to test the shelf life of the product or not. I have some jars ready but i may want to use a fresh run of jars as those have been sitting for a while.
Thanks goes to WTS for providing a free sample to try out, you guys are definitely willing to go the extra mile needed to become a trusted sponsor, if your product works out you will be very happy here. Keep up the good work guys!

Don's waiting on some spores... so he may as well test the shelf life. You can do it too... if you want. But logistically, you are ready to go and Don Quixote is not... grow ahead!

Oh and Don noticed a bit of water in the bag, too (just a little)... but it looked like it had been squeezed out (perhaps during transport) and there wasn't very much at all... and it vanished quickly.
It looks like field capacity substrate to me (As wet as I'd make it myself, but perhaps just a little more wet than I'd want for shipping... let the consumer spray the substrate a bit, if they wish). I mean, water is gonna' be squeezed out when something THAT heavy sits on ONE SIDE for too long... if it is up to capacity. I imagine a filter patch could also help with this.

it's possible, but IMO i think it's above field capacity just from the looks of it. I like my substrates to drip out a few drops after a decent squeeze. This stuff looks like a stream of water would come out if i squeezed it.

I'm thinking Don likes his substrate a bit more damp than you do... or y'all got different batches.

our products are compressed to save on shipping for you, via flat rate priority mail.
We could not compress it and send it via 8 day usps for the same price.
In our opinion, its worth the speedy shipping. You just need to break it up while mixing in spawn.
Nutri-boom will appear to be wetter than the manure but will colonize well, especially because of the castings. You do not need to press nutri-boom down as much as the other straw based substrates to colonize, and it should maintain a high nutritional potency.

I appreciate the flat rate box... where I live, it is the ONLY way to have something shipped out... without costing an arm and a leg!

sorry, i'm going to spawn to the nutri bloom this wkd. My life hasn't afforded me much time, or money, to cultivate. I have some jars ready, just need to find an hr to do the work.
Should be done no later then sat.

Carlito said: There is no bulk substrate that will colonize in 2-3 days, period. I use a substrate formulation comprised of over 13 ingredients, has perfect moisture content, and an isolate and the best times I have ever had is 7-10 days.
Here's a little proof from a trusted member. Id call that about 90-95%, in 2 1/2 days.
FooMan's Weretheshit.com Product Review (in progress)
This is just one example from our first review too, im sure that somebody somewhere had even faster results.

I see some good surface colonization, but it still looks like it has some colonization to do (dark coloring under surface indicates uncolonized substrate) before it gets to 100%. His log will tell the story as it progresses.
I would like to hear how long before primordial formation, as this may also help indicate colonization speeds. Nice post FooMan!

I had a wonderful experience with WTS and if and when I decide to purchase more dung-based substrate I will be contacting him.
The size, cut and how well it is mixed in of the straw was surprising. I have made my own mixes with wood, straw and horse manure but WTS' is actually worth paying for.
My wine-caps ripped through it in ~4 days with a 5:1 rye grain spawn ratio. No manure smell, either.

Thanks! It's a double tub setup, so it's on autopilot right now. I'll definitely update when primordia begin to appear. I'm guessing about a week, but it could be longer. This isolate seems to colonize a substrate fairly quick, but is slow to pin from my experience with it.
