i think hes asking if youre serious about the fact that youre a new sponsor and youre out of a product before you even became established.

The smroomery asked us not to really sell composts as this area is already fairly well covered by the other sponsors.
Our vendor spot in the shroomery is specific to horse manure along with TheShit's basic substrate.
I can work with people a little on composts when i have it in.
However, I am not a compost vendor.

Please clarify that statement. Are you referring to the colonization time for bacteria or mycelia? This is very important for our newer members, as no bulk substrate will colonize in 2 days. Well, I suppose Dactylium will, the surface any ways, but I don't think there are a lot of people growing this mold around here.

Did they seriously ask you to not sell compost?? A far as I know there is only one vendor that sells real compost. The rest just sell sub mix. I hope that is not true whereas what a joke this site will have become if they are now asking you what not to sell....so much for free enterprise.

i don't mean to continue this argument, but 2-3 days to fully colonize more than 27 quarts of any bulk substrate, even at 1:4 spawn ratio, is unlikely. the typical and more accepted time is closer to 7-10 days.
also, the incubation temp of 85 should refer to the actual substrate temp- not the ambient temp in the room. if the air temp is 85, the bulk sub temp is probably closer to 100, which is non-productive.
it's good to see a quick shipper of hpoo, etc. it is needed.

This argument needs to be continued, as I believe misinformation is being spread about this product. There is no bulk substrate that will colonize in 2-3 days, period. I use a substrate formulation comprised of over 13 ingredients, has perfect moisture content, and an isolate and the best times I have ever had is 7-10 days.
Incubating bulk substrates is a big no-no! The ambient air should never be above that of a standard home, which is typically 70-72 degrees. Incubation implies controlled temperatures to that above ambient. This is not the case folks.
I do feel that it is important to bring this up now before people start having false hopes about these products. And for the record, a composted substrate will outperform any formulated substrate any day and twice on Sundays. They are not the same thing and never will be.

That matches my average times as well. Heck, the mycelium needs two days just to recover from spawning, before it even starts to colonize the substrate. RR

well, if you guys would like ill delete that part of the post. However, I have NEVER had a bulk substrate take even anywhere near 10 days to colonize. The longest I see them taking is 4-5
and i usually see myc recovering from spawn in 12-24hrs.

Done! Deleted the post about the colonization times of our substrates.
Everyone's results may vary, the accepted average can be 7-10days

Well I for one would love to try this stuff out, just have to wait for paypal to fix my account, they royally fucked it up. But once it's taken care of, and I get a few qt jars more near completion I'm going to order.
Do you have an estimate of average shipping times to the midwest?

TheShit's basic substrate
Approximately 10lbs This mix is already pasteurized and consists of...
what does your pre-pasteurized substrate come packaged in?

So does that mean it comes slightly compressed? And I assume that would mean they remain good for quite some time? Although HMC has large spawn bags with filters and claim they stay good indefinitely, so I don't see why not.

To clarify, when initially approached by WTS with their stated intent to sell compost, I noted that we already have a few vendors with this product and that selling that item alone would probably not prove very profitable. Our only specific request with respect to their product inventory was that they carry plain old manure, as our community has a strong demand for this product, and at the time WTS approached us, they were not offering plain horse manure on their website. The only time we will restrict an advertiser from selling any given product, is if they are shipping that product to a destination where it is not permitted by law, or are otherwise operating illegally.
- The Shroomery does recognize that this vendor is new to the business and would like to allow them to prove their worth. In efforts to acquire empirical evidence for their stated claims, the Shroomery will order an item from WTS on your behalf and at no charge to you, provided that you agree to review the product publicly in this forum.
- If this sounds interesting to you, please PM me with references indicating your prior cultivation experience (specific threads where available), along with your shipping address and which WTS Basic Substrate you are interested in testing. This offer will be limited to approved members only, at the sole discretion of the Shroomery administration. We are looking for people with experience using manure based bulk substrates so that you will have a solid foundation for comparison.
