All the change is toward accepting how we really are in the first place. Just human, programed, silly, faulty, and all the rest.
It's when you are in the middle that you think that you will change into something better or more complete then you are now.

Acceptance is more effective practised than imagined, and rarely it is brought into practise. The toughest part is recognizing that which prevents us from moving further into acceptance. There are so many distractions around us we mistake for other things... what a mirage.

Change happens when one acknowledges his shadows to be parts of himself.
Denying aspects of the self creates these shadows.
As long as we repress these, there is no change and we stay the same.

I think this would depend on the change you are talking about.
I have not always been so mature, unselfish and thoughtful of others' feelings as I am now. Not that I have reached the limit on these traits, but if I were to be compared to myself 15 years ago the change would be noticeable.

Love your life now and appreciate what you have. That's not to imply that you might not want to do better, just be happy with where you are. Life simply became much easier for me when I stopped caring.
