I would listen to divine moments of truth again if i was under the influence. I have had some of my greatest visions induced from listening to shpongle. I don't know about live, but i have never really found another artist that can program like shpongle.
Yrtlzmo who are you listening to now? Two otheres i have found are Shulman and The Peaking Goddess Project.

Why don't you do yourself a favour and pick up copies of all three Shpongle albums - then if you like them - go.
I'd recommend "Tales of the Inexpressable" (the 2nd album) as a good starting point - but then I'm sure many would suggest the other two.

I used to love shpongle, but I've lost a lot of interest in them, especially since their third album came out. I still like them all right, and I surely can't deny how talented simon posford is, but the more I listen to the last two albums the less I like them. The only one I still listen to all the way through anymore is "are you shpongled?". That is a really solid album. I love to listen to it very loudly when I drive at night down desolate highways. It kind of puts me in a driving trance.
I'm not really sure what the big deal about them live is though. It'll more than likely just be simon posford DJ'ing while raja ramm dances around and diddles around with his flutes. That's pretty much what a sphongle show is right?

yeah this was kind of the plan,
but i dont mind saying on a psychadelic forum - i have a strange draw to them
had my first look and listen via net sources... i think i'll enjoy the scene
you gotta start somewhere right?

Yrtlzmo said: Currently I've been listening to a lot of Beach House, Carissa's Wierd, I just realized I don't care for that genre at all. The closest thing I can get to music like that is Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Bibio, and they aren't very similar at all.
When I listened to them though I quite liked Divine Moments of Truth, I think that was the title.
That music is chill. Not anything special especially for a trip thoguh. You do have to have your everyday music but for me the chill everyday music is 311 RHCP radiohead and A Perfect Circle which can be awesome music for a trip especially if you never heard them.
My next trip will be with Ayreon - 01011001 they are intense and out to change the world.

Not a DJ set. Not just Posford and Raja.
Live band set.

tales of the inexpressible was the first album i ever tripped to. i love shpongle, never have seen them live (even though simon posford came to a local music festival about 25 mins from where i live) but i would love to see them. shpongle is my roots of electronic/psytrance/goa. do yourself a favor, if you ever get the chance to see goa gil, do it, its awesome.
btw can someone give me some aphex twin album names?? im looking for some new psy and having some trouble.

Aphex Twin isn't psy.

please try shulman's endless rhythms of the beatless heart.
then move straight entheogenic's latest called "golden cap"
this by the way is all after digesting some enigma, banco de gaia, and even some flecktones. the flecktones aren't really psy trance but Victor Wooten's bass lines will put you in a trance stick you in a the sickest groove and make you wanna dance.

that was my first tripping album too! good call.
to the OP: I dunno what these nay-sayers are talking about, shpongle fucking rocks. They would be awesome live. I wish I was you, there is no chance in hell that they will come within a 10 hour drive of where I am right now.
They are awesome. Especially if you haven't listen to them before. I found that the first time I listened to them was the best. So listen to a few songs before you go, and then be in for surprises. They are amazing...
