Dear everyone who will someday (or already) want to have a successful mushroom hunt:

Tonight I found out that I need 100 posts to see the "gathering forum". This forum, supposedly, will help me find other people who also want to be successful at finding mushrooms in my area... my problem is, this will only be my 52nd post. I wish I knew about it last year... I would definately have posted a lot more!! Anyway, if anyone would like to reply to this post in order to up your post count, please feel free. We can talk about... whatever. :smile: Or, those of you who want to "gather" in the Portland Metro area could also reply. Or really, anyone can and should reply. Anyway, I really just want to get into that forum... so happy posting?? hehe

as far as i remember , pub doesn't increase your posts. but dont you go flooding topics with gibberish just to get your posts up.

bit early to be hunting for shrooms isnt it? plenty of time to gather 50 posts for this season though

Never had anyone to hunt with? I have done some shits and giggles hunting for amanitas and whatnot, they are everywhere near my g-mas house.

i've searched for azurescens all along the nw coast of oregon and sw coast of washington. no luck. i've also searched for tons of other kinds in nature parks around nw portland. i always hunt with my boyfriend, but we've never been successful.

and as for season...you sure you'Re not a bit early or does the portland season stretch alot longer than the irish season?

I'm pretty sure boosting your posts like this is technically against the rules...but don't listen to me I'm just being a bitch. The best way to up your posts is to contribute to one of those rapid fire randomness threads, you can pretty much post as much as you want.

Well, I mean, you could just participate in threads like the rest of us. Plus people are usually pretty apprehensive to go hunting with members they're not familiar with. So not only do you need to get the posts up to access the forum, you really need to get your posts up so people become familiar and comfortable with you. Otherwise it's not much different than walking down the street and asking someone that you know lives in the area to go hunting with you.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I obviously don't need to post in this thread to boost my post count, I have enough spare time to do so in the other threads I'm posting in. My initial comment was made because I really couldn't believe this hasn't been closed already, and my second comment was a bit of genuine advice.

Alright, first off I never fucking said this thread should or shouldn't be closed, I said I'm surprised it isn't closed. I'm also trying to help you (twenty9stars) out, if my advice seemed so fucking obvious then why don't you take it? Making a thread that essentially says "Hey I wanna +1 my post count so I can get into the Gathering forum" usually doesn't go over too well in here, at least from what I recall.

If you're gonna tell me the point of this thread isn't to up your post count to get into the gathering forum then I'm gonna call you a straight up fuckin' liar. There are plenty of threads already about nothing, no need for you to make a separate one.

I didn't post here when you first started this post because most of the time, the nature of your post is questionable. I to thought it was not somthing that would last long.
I remember i had the similar question/observation about the 100 post rule. It was inside someone elses post, but 2 mods thought it was correct to inform me that such knowledge shouldn't be outright announced on the forums in any form.
