Reasons not to vote for McCain?
    #8041468 - 02/19/08 01:31 AM (4 years, 3 months ago)

All I hear about in these forums is Obama this, Obama that...sheesh!
Poor, old, crazy McCain is hardly ever mentioned.

Who is this guy?

Is he crazy?
Is he old?
Is he old and crazy?

What are the core reasons I should NOT vote for McCain?

Same reason not to vote for Billary or Obama... part of the same old globalist movement that has been maintaining the power of the few at the expense of the many.

How is that a reason to not vote for Obama? :strokebeard:

Anyways, you shouldn't vote for McCain because he has emotional problems, and his sense of foreign policy is fucked. He's a dinosaur that only knows the Cold War, and he'll make damned sure we go through all of that again. The planet has changed quite a bit in the last twenty years and he hasn't. He displays a remarkable ignorance of how the world works, and when his response to Ron Paul, who was speaking for working together with the Middle East, trading with them and increasing the opportunities for their freedom by creating an open economy as a result, was "I don't want to trade with them because they only want to trade burkas", it becomes pretty clear that he doesn't understand the root causes of the problems facing the planet today, and he would only work to agitate the situation instead of resolving it.

How about you guys compare MCCain vs Obama.

Obama wants to pull all the troops from Iraq and has no military experience or knowledge what so ever. McCain is a military lifer and was a POW for a long time. In that respect McCain is far better qualified to run the most powerful military in the world, so aside from the propaganda that is one thing to consider. Conservatives don't care for McCain because he isn't for defining marriage as between a man and a woman. I don't know what his actual stance on it is, just that he isn't promoting an amendment for same sex stuff. He is pro life I think and not my 1st choice from the GOP. The only thing good I can say about Obama is he will decriminalize pot so I kinda hope he gets in just for 1 term, let him legalize the bud and then put someone better in. I don't think he or Hillary are capable of bringing about the type of change they are promising. I don't want universal health care because then the quality of care sucks. The GOP privatized health care is better. You select the plan and the govt pays for it.

I had Masshealth and they wouldn't knock you out for procedures that you normally would be put out for because the state provided coverage wouldn't pay for it. No matter how you cut it, the liberals health care reform is going to make us all still have extra health care to make sure we get adequit treatment. It is a waste of money.

I just don't see anything changing but it is clear now that the War in Iraq is succeeding so if a democrat was to pull all the troops and Iraq crumbles, they will bear the burden of the blame and if they get into office they will see that and then not touch it but also have broken their election promises to pull out. I think McCain is the only one who hasn't changed what he said just to win votes, he sticks to his policys and ideology no matter what and doesn't just speak BS to lure people in, he has been consistent this whole election when no one else has been other than Huckabee who will need a miracle to win.

Don't worry the tsunami is coming! the Mainstream media is just waiting or the Dem's race to finish and then McCain will have the deer in the headlight look.

McCain is anti-choice.
McCain is pro-immigrant.
McCain wants to bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.
McCain foisted the ridiculously useless McCain/Feingold legislation on us.
McCain lost any honor and respect he had when he started towing Bush's line.

This is actually an essential facet of both Clinton and Obama's health care plan. The only democract advocating single payer health care was Kuccinich.

Isn't that an unspoken rule of politics?
Keep the focus on your opponent esp. if you have the most to lose?

It's up there with...
Answer the question you wished they'd asked not the one they really did ask.

EDIT: I found this interesting...

"Like Kristol and Brooks, McCain regards Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln as political idols; like them, he never hesitates in asserting that government power should be used to rekindle American (and Republican) pride in government. Unlike most neoconservative intellectuals, however, McCain is intimately familiar with the bluntest edge of state-sponsored force. A McCain presidency would put legislative flesh on David Brooks’ fuzzy pre-9/11 notions of “grand aspiration,” deploying a virtuous federal bureaucracy to purify unclean private transactions from the boardroom to the bedroom. And it would prosecute the nation’s post-9/11 wars with a militaristic zeal this country hasn’t seen in generations."
