WEll yesrterday I saw a post asking for the differences between Psilocybe cyanescens and Psilocybe azurescens. Here are the two shrooms growing side by side. in two photos and then two single photos of b0th species to help in their identification.
mj

and see below. The large cluster of P. cyanescens is on the left. Can you see the azurescens in the picture and determine their differences.

Aned now a picture of Psilocybe cyanescens by theirselves

and a picture of Psilocybe azurescens with their very umbonate raised caps.
The caps on P. cyanescens are very chestnbut colored and do not have the pronouyunced unbonate nipple of P. azurescens. The P. azurescens ar3 more of a redder color than P. cyanescens but have that distinct umbo and really, the caps tend to turn up a little but hardly ever get wavy as do the P. cyanescens.
One more image of the large Azurescens.

Again, the azure caps still maintain an incurved margin with aging and the P. cyanescens becomes from knowby to wavy with age.

and some baby P. cyanescens to show comparison to the young azurescens above

They are baturally cultivated by theirselves after the innoculation of woodchips from a different area the year before. Astoria, Oregon.

outdoors, in vancouver wa, one could easily cultivate cyans.
also just my two cents worth, that is the first time i have ever seen both azures and cyans in the same pic.

Ni, I would call thenm an introduced species.
If they were there naturlly then the city or landscappers would hav3 casue them to be in the topsoil, mulch or manure or whatever.
These would be transplanted and they only grow naturally in such places for one year or so and ysyally fail to come back again and agian unless there is a permanent lawn/tree service which fertilizes on a regular perpetual care trip.
