okay guys i got one for ya.... i have been growing golden teacher and penis envy for about 10 years using pf tek. brown rice flour, vermiculite and jelly jars. i got the original spores as a birthday gift and they have def. been the gift that has kept on giving. well, i decided to try some new shit so i ordered the puerto rican strain. the only instruction it came with was what temp to keep them at. since i was not sure, i ordered the grow bags with the substrate already in it so i could have a worry free grow. not the case. they did NOTHING for the first month then tuned black. i NEED to know the way to grow these cause im almost out and my birthday is coming up. will someone PLEASE help me out? i mean i need to know everything about them and i cant find any info anywhere. worried about a sober birthday

They should be no different to any other cube. The same growth parameters that applied to your GTs and PEs will apply to these.

well i thought that too but right off the rip they were diff. just cause of the temp. they call for 87 to 97 degrees. i never kept my other ones that hot. they were kept at the most 80 degrees. is there a replacement site for pf tek? last i checked it was shut down

That's probably where your problem is. 87 to 97 is far too high.
Not sure about the pf tek site, as far as I'm aware it's been shut down permanently.

Air in the bags? Also spores do not germinate well on bulk substrate... its best to run an LC into the inflated bag...

RogerRabbit has some videos http://www.mushroomvideos.com/
fungifun.org (Anno's) website also has some PF tek info.
You could do a search.

Is b+ worth growing? ?? I see it has high yield and is noob friendly, but is it even worth growing once you know how to grow? *considering its mostly stem *also is the stem hollow? *is it a potent strain?

Yes its hollow, some say its a fast colonizer which it is, but out of all the cubes I have played with its the same, but you gotta try it just for the fun, potency would be the same as the rest IMO, try exotics

Hell yes it's worth growing. One of my favorites. Don't have any idea why people dub certain strains "noob" strains, because cubes are probably the easiest shrooms to grow, period. My first flush of B+ did not have hollow stems, but the 2nd flush had some that were a bit hollow. Look at my avatar that's a product from my first try at growing its B+. I also think they must be a relatively potent cube strain, i had 7grms fresh which would be somewhere around .7 gram dry, tripped good. Felt like a 1.5 dry trip off some of the local street shrooms.
I think penis envy is the only cube strain people usually say is a bit more potent than the rest.

if there is potency fluctuation between cubes which there is id say B+ is one of the stronger ones.. im actually pretty sure potency is variant as ive had orissa, b+, and thai/asian strains all grown on coir and compared to mis/unlabeled shrooms or shrooms I've picked up randomly I'd say they were of the stronger.
the hollow stems don't really effect yields all too much

Wasn't there some theory floating around that B+ was some sort of hybrid specie? Like a cube crossed with an azure or something? Doubt it's true but still curious.

appearently the creator of B+ claimed that and he's dead from cancer or something.
I'm pretty sure it's been disproved.
Origin is still unknown.

I am not now nor will I ever be one of those "Cube is a cube" guys ,yes they all grow pretty much the same(Even though some are more tolerant to c02 some like hotter temps,etc....)but as far as potency goes it is more genetic than strain or substrate related, that is not to say that I don't believe different strains trip "Different",when people say it is "Set and setting" in my opinion it is complete and total bullshit, there are cubes I love, cubes I hate and plenty that fall somewhere in between but all in all, your not going to pick a potent strain by picking a strain at all,the only way you can be fairly sure of potency is with a clone or isolate

I've only grown EQ, GT, B+ and they each have their own distinct highs. It's a bit more subtle between the GT and EQ, the main difference is GT is more of a cheezy laugh high, the visuals it gives me are also seemingly made to be teh funny. Like seeing Alf appear on a cabinet door. EQ visuals are more color related, the body high is a bit lazier, and B+ is just a totally different animal imo. It's the only one so far that makes me yawn when i trip, and has strong effects gram for gram than the other two. GT still my fav tho.

Tassie cubes are supposed to be pretty good actually. Surprising they can take the cold really.
