But they removed the ! so I thought they were cool now.

Honestly I dont know anything about them but I read an article about the influence drugs played on their music so I thought I'd ask. Didnt know they were off limits in the indie thread... Please forgive me I dont want to leave!!

Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground - S/T

It pretty much sounds like what I would imagine if Andrew Bird and The Polyphonic Spree started a psych band.

Nothing could turn me off more than using Polyphonic Spree in any way to describe something, but so many people seem to like it I'll check it out.

SP: That Santogold album is cool, and grows on me with every listen.

That Santogold record is fresh, but god damn does her style and voice itself reek of MIA. A couple of the tracks off this album were already released as singles last year and were actually pretty big hits. This album will be ridiculously successful, and I'm predicting that Pitchdork gives it an 8.8

Except that Paper Planes is an amazing song.

This CD is a fucking masterpiece, if you haven't heard it you really should, definitely a required CD for anyone who likes good music. I don't really know how to describe it, there's elements of post rock, jazz and pop, just really good.

haha. whatever. i didnt say i was a fan of her music. all i said is that this Santogold character is quite obviously heavily influenced by MIA's music. you'd have to be a total fucking retard to not notice that.

and yes yrtlzmo, Paper Planes is definitely the one exception. I couldn't possibly envision a better song to smoke a blunt to.

'You Forgot It In People' is probably my favorite of BSS, but this album is also very good ('Superconnected' is just rad beyond words)...

I won't disagree, I'm just saying I actually like Santogold, I don't like MIA. And Paper Planes would be better if I didn't have to listen to those stupid ass lyrics.
