awwwwesome, thanks for the Ghost upload man...been DYING to hear these guys.

nice to see GBV's Alien Lanes. I almost upped that one myself, Bee Thousand is just my personal favorite though i guess.

and Redstorm, I think including a brief description is a fine idea.

impliciti i'm glad you're diggin the Phosphorescent. Ideal music for driving down a long stretch of country road at night whilst stargazing out the windshield.

one of my absolute favorites...

Wooden Wand and the Sky High Band - Second Attention

James Toth paints Second Attention's songs in a sound as vintage as the record's amber skied cover art. The album's opener 'Crucifixion Pt.2' alone is worth the price of admission, featuring a perfectly cathartic harmonica solo that Rob Zimmerman himself would approve of.

The most amazing album ever compiled.

Redstorm: its is kind of a folky, anti-folk album, mostly hilrious, but poignant at the same time.

A+ number one.

The Moldy Peaches

Love!

Oh boy this one is AWESOME.

Band of Bees, never to be confused with the more boring (read: less interesting to myself) Band of Horses, with their first album "sunshine Hit Me" from 2003.

It was recorded in a tool shed but you think it was recorded in heaven...

Its a bit hard to describe their music, I guess it would be Rock and Roll with some reggae influence. I pretty much love this album.

They later changed their name to "the bees" when they lost a couple of members, I do believe.

Band Of Bees - 2003, Sunshine Hit Me.

not to mention shes gorgeous!

This is my Vinyl Rip of her latest album "marry me"

Here is another new one, they use a dot matrix printer a casio keyboard and an old commadore64 as there instruments...

But its not your normal circuit bending blip scratch band, they manage to piece together some amazingly beautiful soundscapes... a couple at moments can move me to tears when I let my mind slip. I really like this band.

Four Tet - Pause

Four Tet is one genius bastard. it's hard to briefly describe his sound because his musical scope is so diverse in its range. He's both an accomplished electronic producer and musician, and I believe he plays all the instruments used in the recording of this album. he'll soothe your ears with a nice bit of acoustic finger-picking, only to shatter them the next moment with a menacingly bombastic bass groove. but he effortlessly weaves all of these different elements into a beautifully textured fabric that is completely and distinctly his own. blahhh why do I always feel like a pretentious prick when i read back my own music reviews? lol anyways, just listen to the album. you'll dig it, trust me.

peace...

Ive heard some of his stuff as four tet, Ill definitely check this album out. I have a vinyl rip of his older band (which I love) "Fridge".

Definitely right about his scope and range of sound, it goes from everywhere to nowhere all in the span of somewhere. I mean... Hes very good. Ill try to dig out Fridge for you, its wonderful.

Kimya Dawson - Remember That I Love You & I'm Sorry That Somtimes I'm Mean

humorous and cute, poignant and fun. kimya dawson is a singer/songwriter, anti-folk stylist that creates marvelously simplistic songs.
