arg yellowing, black mold, today sucks, am i treating this correctly

so one of my cakes basically yellowed overnight, like 80% of it, its a tan/pale yellow
So my first thought is 2 much moisture, i opened the jar and woot, a happy little ball of black mold on dry verm layer, so i dipped q tip in HP and it stuck to it and i pulled it out, then spayed down the verm layer with chlorox disinfectant spray
I left lid off and put it in a new ziplock bag with a paper towel hoping the paper towel will absorb extra moisture(crappy public bathroom type paper towel)
now im thinking this is a sign of things to come, do you think its a good idea to separate each jar in a bag to remove some moisture?, I don't want to tip upside down as it will soak my protective layer, only other choice would be to let jars sit on one side, hmmm
right now the jars are sitting an a pot of heated water, with inoc holes open, wonder where the moistures comming from ?? :P
also you can tell water having a effect, i have tc and KS in 1 jar, the KS yellowed and the TC is actually getting thinner towards the middle of the inoc point
would it be better to remove cake out of jar entirely and leave in a bag for a hour, then put back in jar, there not fully done so i'm thinking bad idea
anyway if you know any other ways to remove moisture let me know

your post is incredibly hard to read.
what do you mean too much moisture? like is there condensation on the inside of the jars? that's usually not a big deal.. i dont know what you are talking about as far as a ziplock bag.
opening the jar when there is mold just contaminates the entire area. as far as the mold and what to do with it.. i would say throw out the jar so you dont contaminate the other jars or isolate it into a different room to see if you can battle the mold.
i also dont know why youare sitting the jars in a pot of heated water.. is that to get the temperature up? if so, you should probably find a better way to incubate the jars..
i dont think you really know what you're doing.. stick to the tek..

first off! nice avatar drkrobotnik
yep I am Newb, 1st grow
The water pot thing is to raise temps, its been working well for now, I have high amount of Hydrogen peroxide in the water itself, and any time I check on the jars, when i'm done I can just spray the inside down with clorox disinfectant and put the lid back on, so it should stay relatively contaminate free
however I'm probably going to heat some other way for next set of jars
-------------------------------------------- Ive already segregated the contaminated Jar --------------------------------------------
The main issue is whether the onset of myc yellowing should happen so quickly, reading other posts its hard to tell if it was a slow process where the myc turned yellow slowly, or if it happened overnight.
Now if the jar is contaminated, I wouldn't think the mold would cover 80% of the jar then just turn yellow, so I'm pretty sure its myc and just 2 much water in the jar

thanks. i get a lot of compliments on it.. i dont think it's THAT cool but i guess it's ok.
pictures would really help, but yellowing isn't always bad it could just be metabolites.. which isn't necessarily good but doesn't mean sudden doom for your cake.
the whole hot water thing seems sketchy to me and you should probably just put the jars in a cupboard above your fridge or by some other warm place in your domicile...
you might be getting the jars too hot while in the water.. plus you'd have to keep it constantly running for weeks at a time and not only does that run up your electricity bill, that's also a fire hazard...
find some other way to do that..
and as far as the mold jar, good luck with it.. h2o2 has done wonders for me.

The yellowing is the metabolites that the myc is poopin out. don't try and fight black mold just like green mold, you WILL lose. not trying to discourage you but you really don't want to lose your whole house to that stuff. rethink your jar sterilization technique and/or your needle sterilization technique and try again. happens to the best of us man.
too much h2o2, and clorox are both practices that will result in a lot of dead myc as well. bad idea.

Toss out any project with black mold, and it can be extremely dangerous to breathe the spores. RR

well i know what myc pis looks like, its usually on edges or in groups and is dark yellow orange, in this jar the entire myc turned yellow throughout, well 1 of the 2 strains in the jar
also the black mold on on the top of jar, so the buffer zone was doing its thing, so Ill let it go and hopefully it wont come back, if it does ill boil the jar then just dump it and reboil

i personally think it is cheaper to buy new jars than to fight a mold that cant ever completely die. but its up to you man. good luck. you will need it.
sounds like you need a cheap pc from walmart or something it will pay itself off instantly. and sterilizing your needles is easy. i almost guarantee your problem lies in one of those two of your methods lacking. even if there are black mold spores in your jar they will die if you pc them right.

Maybe this pot of water was the two plastic bins/ fishtank heater incubation setup? if not look into that as it is easy to hide and effective, as long as you keep the temperature at something that is reasonable.
