 First time w/ Mescaline

Hey guys, I consider myself an experienced tripper however I have yet to indulge myself in mescaline-containing cacti. I recently have found myself very interested in this chemical from reading some of the trip reports on erowid and the like. Most say that compared to lsd and psilocybin it's rather tame, but not weak. It also has a euphoric element in it that is comparable to MDMA which is a plus. Would a 12-inch cutting be a sufficient dose? I would like to have a proper trip probably best comparable to the intensity of 3.5 grams of cubies or 2 hits of good blotter. What do you guys think?peace

I'm planning on embarking on a nature trip, probably by myself as I find I get the most out of my trips that way, just me and nature.

From what I hear they vary in potency greatly, but i'd say go for 18 inches

BB's foot long cuttings are great! If they still have it, go for the odd ball cacti.
I always advise against anyone using the blender method!! There is no need for blending if you are boiling.
Here's a video greatly simplifying the whole process.
I would take a few more minutes and cut out the core from each slice though, just for a better tasting brew. Seriously, the spines don't matter! They soften with boiling.

So I'm confused...say I extract the mescaline out of a 12-inch (or whatever size) cactus. Do I drink the whole thing to get a good solid trip, or do I just eyeball out a dose into a cup?

They say not to measure dose by length, but by weight since girth varies so much.
Look, a foot long cutting is usually gonna do it. If not, it may take some experimenting before you can look at a cactus and know about what experience you'll get.
But, yeah, you want to drink all the liquid you concentrate. You should plan out doses based on how much cactus you start with, then you'll know how many doses are in the liquid you make.
If you extract 12 in, you want to drink all of it. If you extract 24 for two people, then split it. You see what I mean?

If you boil it for longer than 30min it should be ok.
I would go for an hour or more though.
Come on man, it's basic extraction stuff. Hot water dissolves the alkaloids from the cactus. How long do YOU think that would take?
