Question for the Mathematically Inclined.

I consider myself average at math. I personally don't find "pure math" interesting at all, but I do enjoy solving equations that can be applied to real life occurences.
The odd thing is that I'm really bad at graphing. For some reason I always get the calculations correct (calculus) but I find some way to screw up the graphs.
Algebra is really easy for me but graphs are heck. I still memorize the unit circle :/.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to improve graphical skills? Anyone prefer maniuplating equations opposed to graphing as well?
I was going to take calc 3 but I heard it's all graphs

When you say your 'bad at graphing' what do you mean? Graphing an equation is just plotting points and connecting the dots. Thats not what you mean is it? You say calculus, do you mean plotting the derivative of a graph that is given? That can be tricky for anyone.
Also, Calc 3 is not all graphs, but it does require you to be able to visualize 3D shapes and vector fields. This is hard for everyone because humans can only see and think in 2D, so to visualize a 3D shape you have to see a 2D cross section of it and rotate it around. (Calc three is a more visual class then most)
EDIT- By they way, Im not mathematically inclined. I struggle through every bit of it. Thats just the way it is for alot of people.

I would say humans naturally think in 2D, not that they only think in 2D. I can visualize 3D fields fairly well, but have never been able to concur 4D.

Eh? Maybe calc has changed since my day, but most of the graphing we did in calc was in calc II (polar coordinate systems). At my school, calc III was mostly intro to partials (partial differentiation) and line integrals, from what I remember.

man if you can do algebra you can graph.
You literally have to think about what the values will be in you mind.. and then it all comes together.. Just approach it from a logical angle.
I used to hate graphs and trigonometry.. but these days I love it
I do however dislike all the gay rules for differentiation and integration :O

get a good graphing calculator... do your graphs by hand and then check them on the calculator. it takes a lot of practice, but eventually your mind will start to envision what the graphs should sorta look like.
