Ehem, that was me that made this topic, but I saw the Anonymous checkbox and was like wtf?  So my curiosity lead to me clicking it.

It was only then, that I saw the topic trendal posted about Anonymous posting in P&MW forum.

So anyway, I've just started stretching before bed to test the hypothesis that stretching before bed will lead to higher quality sleep. It also feels good to stretch after the gym.

If stretching is the key then yoga must be the lockpick.
I  yoga.

Little bit off topic, but I heard that people are an inch taller when they wake up in the morning, and then as the day goes on the pressure from standing up makes your spine shrink back down another inche

relitaveexistance, yes yoga does do alot besides stretch you. It helps build balance and concentration. The better you get the more pshycological/spiritual it becomes. Some postures are also very good at building streangth or endurance. With practice, your muscles will begin to elongat and stretch themselves, giving you a leaner/muscular look. That is why it is the lockpick. It opens ALL the doors.;)

For anyone getting started I would reccomend getting some classes (if free or cheap). Also pick up the book Anatomy Of Hatha Yoga by David Coulter. This book is THE resource. It teaches you all the breathing and numerous postures while explaining their physiological effect in tremendous detail.

I have been interested in yoga and also meditation.  The most relaxed I usually get is when I am stretching. I try to work out and walk/run when I can but I usually don't stretch before hand.  I pretty much always stretch at night a little bit before bed and it always helps me sleep better and relaxes me.  Stretching definitely makes me feel better and working out definitely makes me happier it is just doing it that I have a hard time with. I used to work out daily and love doing it but with work and school I have to make time I don't just HAVE the time.

Stretching is amazing i try & do up to 45 mins after a workout, before bed is good & it does help me sleep very well, i usually stretch, hit a bit of vaporizer, meditate then go to sleep

The only trouble i find i have is if the meditation is powerful i can't sleep after, its hard to sleep when your oozing with bliss!
Or i might wake up in the middle of the night/early morning with very restless legs that want stretching again

Ive found the best way is to stretch then lie down on your back with your arms crossed (like a vampire would sleep) & then try to sleep in that position, then you'll fall into a really deep sleep if your lucky, theres nothing better than deep sleep

I want to take a proper yoga class because i just do about 7 different stretches at the mo & just go with what feels good, im sure with proper teaching for when to breathe it could be better...

If anyone has any good links id love to read more...

:peace:
