Possible small contaminated area on almost fully colonized cake

I have 2 cakes now that are completely covered with mycellium that I will be birthing in a day or two. It looks like one of them *might* have a small area of contamination (or it might just be thin there and the color is from the brown rice flour/vermiculite substrate coming through the mycellium). If it IS contamination, would it be suggested that I cut off the contaminated part of the cake and use it in a casing procedure? Or do I have to discard the whole thing?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Leave it, or post pictures in the contamination forum. Cutting off the small visible, sporulating section of your contaminant mold will do nothing.

So you think PF Cakes suck for pins. THINK AGAIN . Cakes covered in pins that you cant even see the cake!
Please check the dates of posts you are talking information from, im getting tired of constantly correcting people posting old outdated information and UTFSE

It also sounds like metabolites. You can just search the threads in this forum to get lots of pictures of mold, bacteria, and harmless metabolites, which is what I suspect. RR
