In my GH I have a US going every 4 hours for 5 minutes at a time and the RH is always 85% or higher. (takes 4 hours to dip down to 85 btw) and every now and again i will get acouple of aborts but all in all the pins/fuits do very well. just my 2 cents.

Already started to notice the color of the casing layer as it relates to moisture content. Seems like a really good way to see how effective your rH and misting are doing.
Might look into getting a good mechanical hydro sometime, but for the time being I'll just do the best I can keeping the casing moist and rH up but not heavily condensing.

funkatron, do you it set up on a timer or do it manually?
only timers I've seen are in 15 min increments

Some pretty nice gear on that site, though finances right now are kinda preventing any big upgrades like that. Right now I just tend to run it at the lowest setting and give it as much FAE as possible.
I too have read somewhere that the cycling humidity helps trigger pinning. So far the misting/US on low combo seems to be working alright, most of the time only a few aborts but still having difficulty getting even pinsets.

spock, any progress in seeing how in how running your ultrasonic at a lower setting affects casing moisure?
I'd just like to compare some notes

do you see pins yet? I wanna see a picture when you do, I'm doing the same casings. How does 4.5 pints of BRF only make a 1" substrate though?
