I fully agree with you. If any drug contributed to her depression & suicide, it was one that a pharmacist gave her. Not wanting to be outdoors on cannabis? WTF... nature is beautiful on pot (& even better on mushrooms & acid  ). Driving along an old highway late in the day while blazed & seeing the sunset & seeing tall trees in the ditch or close to with branches full of leaves hanging over the road above & beside you is fucking awesome. This article is so backwards.

another enraged mother blaming a drug on a child's death. get over yourself lady, its your child that is to blame, and her mental health, never the drug. face the facts, sometimes the herd must be thinned, in other words, the weak must die so that the strong(in this case mentally stable) may flourish. i hope to god no one blames my death on anything else but my own self, this is my only death wish.

I can understand a grieving parent wanting to blame a drug for their failure at parenting, but what I don't understand are the newspapers that carry such drivel.

The anti-depressants probably had a lot to do with it. For some people, some anti-depressants will cause problems worse than the problem itself. (although I do believe they help a lot of people if they do their homework and get on the right things, that is if they need them) pressure and expectations are probably big too. I guess the least problem she had was smoking the EVIL SKUNK! I don't think I have ever heard a statement that said "she was doing fine with the low grade marijuana and suddenly she smoked some sensimilla and became crazed" typically Marijuana is just "bad". Of course a woman like this who would drive a promising kid to suicide probably would blame anything if it showed she wasn't a bad parent.

Everyone always wants to take the credit and never the blame, no surprise. Her parents probably never let her experience different things and guided her to be what they wanted musical artist, and avoided the facts of life. Not educating or even just talking about drugs themselves regardless of what they are or do, the more you know the better everything else is. All want the easy way out.
