if its a series circuit with alot of fans on it , it will all slow down as they all draw there own current. P=VI the higher the volts the lower the current, therefore if your going to add more fans go with a adapter that suits your needs. Then again its the amps that kill you ..

Just ust whichever voltage is on the fan, or buy a bigger fan/

yea just get 120 volt fan. then you just attach teh wires from a normal plug in, easy enough. used to be easy to find.

cuz i dont wanna break the night cycle, and im jus tryin to find out ifits gonna be even worth trying tomarrow. ive got an 80mm computer fan on a 12v. and it seems to blow damn near double the strength of the 120mm fan hooked to a 7v.

what volts does your 120 require? i put a 80mm on a 7v and it looked like a one legged man taking a jog...

im sure it would boost the power on your 120 to move it up some volts.

yeah switch it to a 12v tomorrow, if its on 7v now and requires 12v that means you've probably been burning the motor out.

Under powering it wont burn it out. If he was putting 24V through it, that would burn it out.

haha yes it will. i learned this the hard way trying to dry mushrooms and almost caught my house on fire.

my advise it dont tr to cheat the system. go out and find a compatible plug for the fan.

So what exactly did you do? What was the fan rated at and how much power did you put through it?

explain that to me about 5 months ago when I hooked a 7v up to a 12v and it ran very weird and slow for about two weeks, until it finally melted, stopping the fan in its tracks

Was that fan you were using rated for continuous use? I'd bet money that it wasn't.

Thats why people are hesitant to help Whiteboi, nobody wants to see any damage done.It really is better to just do things correctly. When u have the time or funds, get a 120v Fan you wont regret it.
