Tool - Aenima Somewhere between hearing third eye for the first time on acid, taking english and chemistry with adam jone's niece, and rolling my first time at a tool concert, they've become the most significant band in my life.
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory I don't like their other albums, but Hybrid Theory really got me into the rock/alternative scene.
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Not as good as a whole album, but wish you were here was the first song i heard tripping.
Infected Mushroom - Vicious Delicious Got me into...psytrance? I'm not sure exactly what to call the genre. Very energetic and diverse.

So, it looks like the albums that most effected shroomerites are:
Tool - Aenima Alice in Chains - Dirt Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica
i have to say, this surprised me. maybe this is just to sort of posters we have in this forum, but i expected more dead and phish for some reason. the alice in chains repeated choice surprised me a lat. they hit big while i was in high school. either you have older brothers and sisters or this forum attracts an older member then other forums.
good choices, everyone.

I don't care how old this is.
Nirvana - In Utero This is the album that eventually got me into the noisier, heavier styles of music. "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" was one that epitomized that, along with Milk It, Tourettes, etc.
Grand Funk Railroad - Live! (Side A) Holy shit. I remember my dad showing this album to me (along with E Pluribus Funk) and being completely blown away. It changed the way I look at a 3-piece band.
Hendrix - Live At the Berkeley I don't think anything needs to be said about this.
Tool - Aenima Easily changed the way I look at how deep music can go. I always remembered hearing about backwards voices in old rock songs, but the mathematical precision of some of Tool's songs, plus the lyrical content, all radically changed my views on music.
Clutch - Blast Tyrant I remember buying this album specifically for the cover, but once I threw it the car stereo, I could tell was something not to mess around with. Clutch have taught me the rules of rock, and appreciate the difference word choice can make
Alice in Chains - Dirt The biggest "fuck you" on plastic, songs like Dirt, Would, Them Bones rocked my ass for years.
Black Label Society - Sonic Brew Back when Zakk would still bother to write a good song, this gave me a desire to get better at playing the guitar and being a musician in general.

are YOU above the ignorance?
We are always acting on what has just finished happening. It happened at least 1/30th of a second ago. We think we're in the present, but we aren't. The present we know is only a movie of the past.

Run DMC - Rasin' Hell -- it was 1986 and this was the first actual cd i purchased.
They had CDs then?
Rasin' Hell was the first actual tape I ever purchased, cause my parents wouldn't buy it for me. I was 11 years old.
