 Psilocybe semilanceata spores

Hey everyone, I know this may be too simple a topic for this forum, but does anybody know if spores for Psilocybe semilanceata are available anywhere? I have been querying Sporeworks for over a year but all they say is, in a few months, in a few months, and it never appears.

That is entirely my fault. I get distracted easily with other species. But I actually have started a few of my friendlier strains now so "in a few months" is actually accurate. They are very slow growing so I can't do it any faster than that. Sorry.

i would love it if a non cubensis strain that is easy to cultivate got into circulation. semilanceata i think would be an excellent addition to the world of spores.

Semilanceata is not likely to ever be as easy to cultivate as cubensis.

are they comparable to any other kind of mushroom that is already in circulation at the moment? and do you need to take any extra measures in order to grow them? how do they differ in terms of cultivation i guess is what im asking.

They grow much slower and at lower temperatures. Some sort of refrigerated environmental chamber and a lot of patience are needed. They also don't fruit without a biologically active casing which can cause contamination problems if not well balanced.
Psilocybe hispanica is similar and will readily fruit under sterile conditions at around 55F. Psilocybe mexicana is also similar and fruits at around 75F.

By biologically active casing do you just mean a casing that the myc can eat? or does it contain special microbes or something?
It sounds like a slip-up i might face on some of the weirder non-active mushrooms i'm currently growing

He means microorganism´s and Co.
Workman did you incubate your casing layers before you apply them?
Anybody had more information what microorganisms are helpfully for Psilocybe fruiting?

I used a small amount of outside garden soil as a casing inoculate.

All Psilocybe cubensis "strains" are the same species, and grow well under similar conditions, producing high yields with little effort, compared to other Psilocybe species.
Ps. semilanceata is a particularly temperamental species, and produces much smaller fruiting bodies than Ps. cubensis.

Here are the strains that are currently being worked on. I tend to work on atypical versions so I haven't started on a "classic" strain and I may not get to one for awhile. I am excited about the large Finland strain which hopefully is a superior performer.
