In the same vein as drummer appreciation, I want to appreciate some of the best guitarists out there by showing video clips. Feel free to add a guitarist, video required.
First and foremost Joe Satriani. From a technical standpoint, know one knows the instrument better. He has taught greats such as steve vai and kirk hammett how to play.

And a solo from Pat Metheny Group, definitely his best stuff, but putting up videos of it is hard because all the pieces are really fucking long. But this solo is really good.
Notice the terrible hair cut and the same 2 or 3 shirts in every video.
Edit: Upon further listening, the last solo is actually really fucking good, not just really good.
