Gonna Kill A FOAF's Cat!!!
    #7206977 - 07/21/07 05:39 PM (5 years, 9 months ago)

So AFOAF informed me today that her cat snuck in and got at one of her 5 PPP strain MJ plants.  These little guys were growing like crazy and at just 2 weeks already have the craziest sugary sweet skunky smell.  The cat chose the smallest one to annihilate(althoug small it was growing the best... just a little behind).  2 leaves were ripped in half via cat jaws and 1 other leaf was completely removed.  Mind you this plant only had about 15 leaves to begin with.  Also when found the plant was laying sideways due to being pulled half way out of the dirt... AFOAF did the best they could and got it standing back up and roots in the soil.

Now... Has anyone on here had such a tragedy happen to them?  Do you think she will survive(AFOAF is hopin they are all she's  )

Is watering after an event like this good or bad?  Figure it might shock it even more... but then again AFOAf is no pro!

Thanks shroomerites

I'm surprised afoaf hasn't eaten his cat already.

cats are self-righteous, unloving and unfriendly creatures. they care only about themselves and only go to you when they want something. in their free time they destroy all your shit by clawing it to pieces, and they make you worry at night when they leave your house to go roam the neighborhood and come back whenever they want, causing you to put up "Missing" signs and make people waste their time looking for the cat.

If a cat got into my plants, that little feline would be thrown off my balcony into the lake. I hate cats, I'm much more of a dog person.

My eyes hurt now.

I feel you. I love dogs, but I tend to actually not get along with both cats, and the owners that so dearly love them. It's kind of weird that way ... but if I had the chance to have a pet Jaguar or something, I'd be all about it.

StDuns:  Cats love plants.  The ONLY way to keep them from doing that, that I know of, is to make it impossible for them to get around the plants.  Provide them with some sort of safe alternative as well, like harmless 'cat grass' which can be bought at most pet stores.  There are lots of harmless house plants that you can keep around for your cat to play with and chew on..  but there are also lots of plants that will make them sick, so be careful with that.

You just got like +1000 cool points for that statement. German shepherds are some seriously amazing, loyal and friendly dogs, and they generally have beautiful coats.

Yeah... when I lived at home w/ my parents, we always had atleast 2 German Shepards at a time(2 are still alive and 2 are gone :frown: ... I still remember them so well... they become like family somtimes ya kno?) and they are the most incredible creatures ever.  Smartest most loving animals and they aren't afraid to stand up for ya!

I'm a big fan of beagles. Maybe it's because of snoopy or because I had the greatest coolest beagle when I was kid (I seriously miss that dog) but they're fantastic. Really laid back and easy going, loyal, but energetic enough to be up for trips or walks or what not.

not many people have Beagles these days, huh?  at least, not in LA ... all the girls in this city have ugly little chihuahuas in their purses ... and most guys, do too? :wtf:

g3h.

Not to shift gears completely, but I'd be really interested to know what's in your grow room in terms of equipment and lighting. I just completely redid my grow room and I'm kind of finding grow room set-ups to me to be like cars to racing enthusiasts or computers to gaming enthusiasts.

What man would consensually own a chihuahua?

I'm not growing at the moment. for my first grow, the White Widow, I used a 250 HPS for 12 hours a day during veg to supplement the other 12 hours a day in the outside sun, to get a balance of the organic and the synthetic in producing her ... just one plant, but the quality was significant.

for the second grow, Master Kush, I used a 400 HPS and did the same, splitting the veg time in half between indoors and outdoors, and finally leaving it under the HPS while flowering to get maximum budding potential.

for my third grow, who knows ... it's a long time away =)

but yes, I do agree, it's fun to see different grow room set-ups, especially when they're really high-tech operations. mine have been super simple and non-hydroponic, and I've yielded better results with just that kind of deal than any super elite hydro room ...

so while the rooms are fun, I think all the equipment is really not necessary ... again, just for fun ...

why do cats eat mj plants?

Cats will chew on all plants, not just MJ. Especially indoor cats that don't get all the trace goodies that exist in nature in their artificial cat foot.

It's normal. You shouldn't get mad at a cat for doing what cats do. :cat:
