up in washington, where hundreds of people also hunt them and they are also highly popular; i found a resaurant that would offer $40. in one day in 2005 a few friends and i found at least 30lb.

The chantrelles soaked in vodka are good in sauce, I put them directly into the sauce after they were diced and simmered them for 20 minutes. The don't have much chanterelle taste, but every piece tastes like vodka.
The chantrelle liquor is good, I like it, others that have tried it think it's a bit weird and would be better as an ingredient in cooking.
