like i said, i'm down. as long as they'll be grouped in a heirarchal manner (substance-->sub cats similar to e-wid: good/bad/combo/etc..

i agree a team of 5-10 individuals would be perfecct. Existing reports should be categorized as best as possible (ie: mimimally by substance and overall experience good/bad). i also think that a team of about 3-5 individuals needs to be maintained to 'review' new reports and categorize the influx. However, to make things easier and more complete, there SHOULD be a standard format for the header of the report, ie: Substance, Dosage, M/F, Body Mass.

I am more than willing to pour over a few thousand documents for the sake of a more efficient and thorough shroomery.

The best approach would probably be to divide work-segments up into 100-200 report blocks and assign these to the volunteers.

EDIT: well, i just took a random look at some of the reports and noticed that some of them have absolutely no pertinent data. ie:

Reports like this should be scrapped, but to avoid bias, maybe reccommend for deletion and then have 1-2 people be solely responsible for deciding if they should be deleted or not... or if that's how the 'trash' function already works, maybe add-on to whomever takes care of that as i'm sure there'll be a great increase of trashed crap-reports if this project gets underway.

even if it is kinda following suit, it's a logical method for organization. i find the problem with erowid's vault is that the information is a little too concise. I'm sure Ythan never thought that the shroomery would be where it is today when he first turned it on the interwebs, but the information here is ALOT more in-depth....just not as organized i think we'd be doing the interwebs a favor by working toward another Giant bank of information that OBVIOUSLY alot of people are interested in.
