This website doesn't owe anybody anything, and the people who run it and moderate only have a responsibility to try and clear away misinformation and make sure people know how to do things safely and responsibly.
If people step away from their computers and act irresponsibly with their drugs, that is not the moderators' fault.

The shroomery is still the most informed and interesting forum of it's kind. Yes, there are a few too many close-minded and upitty people here and many of the truly great posters are gone, but I still enjoy the environment here. There is still a wealth of knowledge and originality to be found here, not to mention humor. Ugliness is present, but is easily ignored.

The shroomery is a fairly accurate guage of society. Some people welcome the n00bs, some people fuck with them, most ignore them until their intrest is piqued.
whenever you are first starting to communicate in a somewhat alien landscape, your comments have no personality to be pinned to, there is little rapport between you and the reader.
Think about it, when you are a faceless statement, there is nothing personal about it, so we make fun of how n00b it is until it sticks its personality far out enough for us to make fun of that....

What the hell are you talking about? This is the "shroomery". People don't OD on mushrooms. Your friend was taking a different drug and he should have done his research on Erowid or something.
The idea that people need "sitters" "online and off" and that they be "encouraged" by the mods...I don't know where to begin with that one. There's so much wrong with that line of thinking. We're supposed to be 18 (got my doubts on you). Adults. And mods mod forums, they have nothing to do with your personal choices which may be taken half-way across the globe.
