Sup people, Hibuki here once again. Just got back from a hunt and found 2 different types of mushrooms. Was hoping for an ID for both. Man... if these arent subs (since they dont seem to really be bruising blue, imma just give up.
3rd week hunting nearly everyday and really starting to loose motivation. Neways here are the pics followed by descriptions.
The 1st picture is basically my find for today, i didnt pick much just a few of the species I found.
The find:

The Larger Mushroom:

Habitat: Found near a zoo, in woodchip gardens.
Gills: The gill color is caramel brown.
Stem: Whitish, pretty fragile, slightly enlarged at base.
Cap: Kinda of gray, smooth, moist, 3 inches in diameter.
Spore print color: A brownish purple color.
Bruising: It seems to have gone greyer / bluish, although i dont think its a sub T_T.
Location: Picked in Melbourne.
The Smaller Mushrooms.

Habitat: Found near a zoo, in woodchip gardens.
Gills: The gill color is caramel brown.
Stem: Caramelish, flexible, originally white.
Cap: Caramel Brown, smooth.
Spore print color: A brownish purple color.
Bruising: There is a kinda of bluing in the stems... although i could just be seeing what i want to see... the stems do look darker since i picked them though.
Location: Picked in Melbourne.
-------------------- To see from a thrid perspective, one must achieve it.
To come back from it though... one must enlighten the soul and accept their surroundings for what they are, otherwise you will be in for a nasty shock.

actually thats not true.
Though obviously there are lots of mushrooms with red caps and stems that you cant eat, there are plenty you can as well. such as the wonderful and delicious bolete mushrooms. they bruise blue, and typically have red/yellow stems and red caps that turn brown as they age. they are delicious and are in no way toxic if you get the right species. (there are some that are poisonus such as boletus satanus)
but dont let the color of mushrooms throw you off.
