WBS Jar Lids Polyfill and micropore

I'm going to try innoculating some quart jars with millet tomorrow. I don't have any Tyvek, didn't make it to the Post Office this week. I do, however, have polyfill and micropore tape, could I make the polyfill filter and cover it with micropore on the underside, instead of tyvek and not have much to worry about?

Just put a hole in the lid of the jar, and put a wad of polyfill through it.

Yea and than never shake your jars for fear of the polyfill flying out and ruining all your work up to that point,Go to the office supply store and buy a box on 9x13 tyvek envelopes,1 of them cut correctly will cover an entire case of 12 wide mouth quart jars....WELL worth the investment, and no horribly messy unreliable polyfill and no trip to the post office for a few at a time.... Aside from trying to grow in a prison cell I cant imagine a valid reason why someone would voluntary choose polyfill over tyvek and even than I would imagine you could get someone to send you something in a tyvek envelope rather than mutilate your pillow .... GAH I hate that stuff

buy...tyvek?
www.usps.com
RR recommends using kite tyvek, not postal/envelope grade. It's made as a mesh of joined fibers, and the envelopes don't work as well.

Yes,buying tyvek seems to be ridiculous I know but as I said a box will last you quite some time,it isn't expensive and I hardly make it outdoors during postal service hrs, besides I think improper usage of the post office tyvek is a federal offence I believe, knowing my luck I will get locked up for this even if I were to weasel out of the mushies charge....Where would I be than,Ill tell ya where Id be reduced to the likes of the commen teddy bear murderer and be in jail having to use polyfill

I've got polyfill filters as tyvek is a little bit harder to get hold of in the uk. just poke a big piece of polyfill through a small-ish hole and you won't have to worry about it flying out! It works fine for me....i don't know why you would put tape underneath though
