I noticed on one of my jars(the one colonizing the fastest, figures)the dry verm layer seemed to slip down a bit. will the myc just grow over this or what and will it be ok when i birth it?
Also i messed up when making the jars (i read the tek wrong) and i put tin foil under the lids but there still holes in it. But not that my jars are about 60% can i remover the lid real quick and take it off or is it not worh tthe risk?
-------------------- Im new to this so try and bear with me...
-9 jars of BRF (currently clolnizing)

When using dry vermiculite as a barrier, try not to tilt them side ways so this doesn't happen again. Don't take the lid off to get the foil. It won't hurt anything and opening the jar before it's done is pretty risky, especially with out a glovebox. It will be fine to birth it as long as it's 100% colonized. Wait till you think it's done and then wait one more week. Wash your hands with antibacterial soap, take it out of the jar, and dunk it in room temperature water. Next, roll it in damp vermiculite and introduce fruiting conditions.
