 My Girlfriend taken to Jail for supposedly being high.

2 nights ago my girlfriend was at an after hours bar that got raided. She had been there for 10 minuts. She had just gotten off work, where she had been waitressing for the past 8 hours in a smokey strip club.
Cops take half of the people to jail in the club. She wasnt high, but went to jail for public intoxication of marijuana. She was there in jail for 32 hours and never had charges filed against her.
Is there anything we can do legally to get some sort of retribution, or do we just have to deal with her being thrown in jail for no reason?

Just because they haven't charged her doesn't mean that they won't charge her. They can press charges for a certain time after the fact, how long I do not know; probably varies from state to state, county to conty etc.. Did they manage to test her for drugs? If so even if she did test positive for marijuana that doesn't mean she was high at that time. Just lay low and cross your fingers and hope they don't do anything. Depends on how busy the cops are in your area, they might not want to fuck with processing all the paperwork.

Pleanty you can do...but I would move before you do it. Welcome to America, guilty until proven innocent. This is why you have a good personal criminal defense attorney as a close friend. Its sad it works that way, but shit like this happens ALL THE TIME.
