Religion/Spirituality in politics/science world

So I'm having a cup of coffee and watching CNN. And he interviews these two guys about the christians' book of revalations.
And the host basicly asks "Why arnt we converting, since it's so clear that Armegedon is comming?"
so I'm like, oh wounderful, this is what happens when you give religios nutballs a TV spot. People this isn't news, this is faith, keep it in the church.
Which brings me to my point, It frightens me that religios belief explanations may become politcally exceptable. Does anyone else have a problem with this?
The whole christian mentality seems to be "You dont have to believe, but you still have to listen to us." I dont like christians anymore, they're like spam e-mail.

I'm sharing the same feeling as you and it's not only about religion, the problem goes deeper. One advice off the topic: turn off the TV. Now, getting back on the topic, I'm starting to believe more & more in individualism. Dave yourself from all that shit and that's all

Unless you can find and present the truth/untruth about God in a blindingly obvious fashion, get used to them.
What gets me is how we're supposed to have speration of church and state. Yet the majority of voters, or at least a whole swarm of them, will vote for whatever candidate is aligned with their religious views (mostly christian) on that principle alone, which equates to religion being front and center in our government (aka Bush).
Please Jesus, save us from your followers.

Everything via media is propaganda. It's all bull-shit. Any polarity or division or argument supports the problem. Being and Being Aware is the way to transcend the bull-shit. We are all one. We're all in this together and being active antennas of love is within our ability, perhaps even duty, as humans. Our society is designed to bewilder us while we operate as batteries for an ominous agenda. We have to be aware that 95% of media is owned by 5 corporations who have complete control over what is dissimenated. Science, religion, media, education, etc. are all mind-traps that limit and deceive us from the truth about ourselves and the universe. More and more science writing is discussing dark matter and the "junk DNA" that composes 90% of our DNA previously discarded as worthless. Dark matter is merely what we perceive as "empty space"--but it makes up 99% of the cosmos. We are all stuck in a very large jello-mold. It's congealed life-salad. This knowledge offers obvious connections between quantum physics and esoteric mysticism and knowledge. Mind over matter. The elephant in the middle of the galaxy is the unchallenged disjuncture between our intuitive place in the universe, i.e. natural, harmonious and the manufactured one we have accepted, i.e. alienated, depressed, materialistic [Western society]. The fervor around armageddon, the Mayan calender, the apocalypse, etc. will only grow as the media manufactors fear and offers solutions to carefully crafted problems beamed into the minds of viewers. So, I try not to get too annoyed when I see this crap on tv--it's all crap and we have to be critical, to think for ourselves and not get sucked into the trap of taking sides and joining in the fighting, arguing, etc. Only love is the truth. How can we argue with that?

It's a bit tricky when you say that one should keep one's religion/spirituality out of their politics, because it is the lens through which they view their entire reality. I don't think it's always such a bad thing when one's actions are inspired by their faith. For example, say someone's faith motivates them to seek world peace and social justice(think Jimmy Carter but more successful). I think the problem is when the motivating force is dogma rather than spirituality.

Let the good thoughts in and keep any dogma out. I truly believe that personal beliefs are being called personal for a very good reason. We are where we are because we're being overfed with fairytale which all have the epic conclusion: "they laughed at Jules Verne" (well more or less, nevertheless, that's the idea). Now how could that kind of thinking do us any good ?
