You can get free samples of these different products from Corning Sciences. I got mine a long time ago when I tried to amass a huge amount of free stuff. Now, thanks to you guys, I have something to use them for, liquid culture.
What you might wanna check out. Low Profile 100cm2 Flask, Vent Cap Corning CellBIND Surface Details: The unique Corning CellBIND surface is the first novel cell culture surface treatment in over 20 years. This new surface enhances attachment making it easier to grow fastidious cells under difficult conditions, such as reduced-serum or serum-free medium, resulting in higher cell yields.
Developed by Corning scientists, this patented (US Patent # 6,617,152) technology uses a microwave process for treating the culture surface. This new process improves cell attachment by incorporating significantly more oxygen into the cell culture surface, rendering it more hydrophilic and increasing surface stability.
26 mm diameter filling ports:
* Allow direct access to the chamber bottom * Greater flexibility for aseptically filling and removing medium and cells * Provides faster equilibration better gas exchange for each layer. * Standard 33 mm self-venting threaded caps have 0.2 µm pore hydrophobic membranes that allow sterile gas exchange and prevent pressure build up during transport.
Fill out the form here, you can also request other stuff, I got a pile of centrifuge tubes and a 1 liter flask. I wouldn't suggest ordering too much stuff as they do treat each order by hand, and review whether you will get them. DO put a real phone number, because they might decide to call you for some info as to why you want them. You can lie, or just tell the truth (minus the psilo words). I never received a call. Here you go!

Here is a little more details. I put it in a post below also, sorry for the redundancy.
These are the low profile flasks. They come with the prethreaded air exchange caps. The selling point of these is that you can grow more cells in less space. Its the very first check box. Then you would check the appropriate box on the next page, that says "Corning® CellBIND® 100cm² Canted Neck Low Profile Flask with Vent Cap" You will get six of them.
These are the cell stack culture chambers. The checkbox says the same thing. To get the tubing you can check the accessories. Each set of stacks has a different amount. Filling the large stacks are a little bit harder, but ideal if you are working with larger amounts. As advertised by corning you can get more cells and still take up less incubator space.
The filling supply checkboxes are only slightly confusing.
The larger diameter tubes might be helpful with transferring mycelium through tubes with less clogging. You would probably be good with Filling Cap, 33 mm with 3/8" ID tubing and barbed fitting and 33mm Polyethylene Filling Cap with a Female MPC Polycarbonate with a 3/8" (9.5mm) ID Coupling and a Male MPC Polycarbonate End Cap
Remember, ordering too much for free will make you less likely to get samples. But you could be safe getting more tubing samples.
For the smaller operations you would be good with the low profile flasks and vent caps.
Here is a PDF with some filling instructions for the cellSTACK culture chambers. http://www.corning.com/Lifesciences/technical_information/techDocs/bp_cellstack_manual_1_27_03_cls_bp_007.pdf
EDIT:To help people understand what each item is, I added links to the pages so people can see a visual and understand them better. Here is a list of links for each checkbox.
*1536 Well Black Clear Bottom Microplates (Other microplates are similar so I am leaving them out) http://www.corning.com/lifesciences/products__services/features/clrblkmicroplate.asp
*CellSTACK® Culture Chambers http://www.corning.com/lifesciences/products__services/features/cstackportal.asp
*CellSTACK® Filling Accessories http://www.corning.com/lifesciences/products__services/features/CSaccessories.asp
*Centrifuge Tubes http://www.corning.com/lifesciences/products__services/features/tubes_new.asp
*Cryogenic Storage Vials http://www.corning.com/lifesciences/products__services/features/cryo.asp
*Disposable Spinner Flasks http://catalog.corning.com/lifesciences/productdetails.aspx?p=Containers@@@41@@@2727&id=3152(Containers)®ion=GE&language=EN (Built in stirrer, great to use, no need to shake anymore)
I'll keep adding more links later. Thanks guys

Its an easy to use area use to culture cells in the laboratory. it has a vented cap, that allows pressure and o2/co2 exchange, while preventing contams. The special surface on the inside increase growth. They come shipped sterile, so all you need is a sterile area and growth material

Liquid Cultures. These products are used by biologists for growing cells of all types. Their designed to aid in growing cells/cultures. They allow you to grow more cells per container, and allow you to fit more in an incubator.
The caps allow for sterile CO2 O2 exchange, and for sterile filling. This makes your work easier and more productive.
The insides are specially designed to allow for better gas exchange also, coated with cellbind technology.
If you can't see how you would use free professional lab equipment for growing cells and cultures, thats a question I can't answer.

Wow, thanks for the link. I'm still looking through the samples, trying to figure out for certain what I want. DO they charge shipping, or is it actually free?

I do not see how those hold any more liquid than a jar and I do not see it being to practical.
The insides are specially designed to allow for better gas exchange also, coated with cell bind technology.
That sounds like marketing to me.

This thread was deleted in that section of the forums. No duplicate posts. I could see if the mods wouldnt mind. I find this to be pretty useful.
And the samples are ABSOLUTELY FREE. No shipping or nothing. Although the cellBIND stuff does sound like marketing, you also have to consider that they are willing to give out samples for free, so you can evaluate their worth. I find that something designed for laboratory use specifically designed for cell growth, shipped sterile, and for free surely beats the hell out a glass jar. But to each his own, many people have had great success with jars. But, I thought it would be a great contribution to the society to show them some free things that they could try out. Hell, if its any more successful than a jar thats great.

Its from Corning laboratories I am sure that its completely legit. There is no reprocussions for sampling their products, they just want people to try it so they buy it.
They don't just give stuff away to anyone and everyone though, if your just someone trying to scam free stuff for the hell of it (like me at first) then you might not get a free sample. A good comment about the website always helps, it can be god or bad, but it shows genuine interest in their products and helps you get your sample.
