That is absolutely awesome! Looks very simple, but very effective. I want to be the first to know when you when you have written down from start to finish everything! I hate going thru dry spells. Is that something that you could do in your garage?

I'm totally doing this...I need a simple grow set up because I don't have the time/energy right now to keep up any other way. I think I've just found my new method.

Question: It's only spring and my apartment is getting pretty hot right now. (no AC) I'm worried about the temps being too warm for fruiting so any advice on that? I was thinking about just using those water-filled icy thingies beneath the bucket. Or even placing frozen towels around the buckets, I don't know. What do you guys think?

Usually three flushes is no problem, averaging around 45g on the first flush, 20 on the second and 10-15 on the third - this is strain and environmental dependant though and can vary, but that seems to be a relatively steady average.

Sounds like it would work but negates the whole purpose of it being relatively hassle free... Really depends on the temp in the room - as long as its not much above 35C you should be just OK - just keep plenty of FAE and the odd misting.

Unreal man! Looks great, only thing you may have a problem with is side pinning - the plastic lets through a lot of light.

Buy some black tape from bunnings (about $2 a roll) - and wrap that around the bottom to above the line of your substrate before you start next time.

What did you use for a substrate and casing layer?

Make sure you put up a pic when its complete - looking great so far...!

Yeah there's a bit of side pinning in there. Will tape up the sides next time for sure.

Used Nitrogen enhanced coir as substrate and verm/peat for the casing. Think I might make a visit to Ascot for h-poo tomorrow though for the next batch

Bloody great post! I've just currently had my first flush with Z-strain using the PF-tek and have had a good result. Im looking at going bulk and this certainly is the way to go about it for cost and ease of use.
I still see those 79cent buckets up at Bunnings

A few of questions,
∙With the WBS, do you recommend any place in particular to get it?
I've heard that it can sometimes be treated with 'kote'?
∙Where did you get the Nitrogen enhanced coir?
∙And the shower caps, Coles, where is that?
∙Which tek would you recommend for this process?

Thanks in adavance, a great post!

The substrate was a mix of straw, horse poo, coir and coffee grounds (with a splash of seawead extract to bump up the nutes).

Did you use a layer of perlite or verm at the bottom of the bucket?

Im on my way to doing this tek, just waiting for my BRF jars to fruit for new spore prints to made in to an LC

Having trouble sourcing, Tyvek type filters.. Any ideas? (In New Zealand)
Preservation (quart jars) No idea on these...

Micropore tape should be in a chemist with the plasters. Use that and you don't need Tyvek.

And just use any pasta sauce jars, with metal lids - no need particularly for preserving, or 'canning' jars.

Currently 'bucketing' with PF Classic. Man what an easy way to grow. WBS to 50/50 coir/bagged cow manure, cased with 50/50 peat/verm with a touch of gypsum. Taken out of incubator last night.

I can't see myself using any other grow method. I'll post some pics when it's more advanced - should I append here or start a new thread? The mycelium looked mad prior to casing.
