 Info on starting a business

Does anyone know what I would need to do to start and register a business (including name and such). Im assuming there is paperwork especially if we are going to be selling guitars. Anyone with experience and information would help a lot. Thanks guys.

while everyone is working hard on this business starting, what would a home buisness all need to do?
or could i just have a "rummage" sale every day of the week

It all depends on the area you live in and what the regulations are. Everywhere is different.

Make sure to choose a business form that will protect your personal assets so in case of bankruptcy you wont be personally liable for all debt. Even though it costs more to start you can usually buy inventory for the initial outlay.
I don't know much about American corporate law unfortunately but from what i could gleam it looks pretty similar the the system we use over here.
LLC seems to be what you should look in to.

LLC's are the way to go, IMO.....
Register with the local governments. You'll need a state tax ID and a federal tax ID (assuming you're US-based.)
