They fucking sucked. ALL year. Trust me, I watched them play numerous times.
They were HORRIBLE. There were 4 other teams in the playoffs better than them. The Mets should have killed St. Louis, if they hadnt suffered, literally, a decimation of their pitching staff a week before the playoffs.
Hell, I STILL think the Mets should have beat them. GOD, I hate the Cardinals.
And then they get the tigers in the World Series. How did the Tigers even lose *1* game, much less 4? They were the hottest team in baseball ALL YEAR. They had a better manager, infinitely better starting pitching, a far superior bullpen, more pop in the line-up, a better bench, etc, etc.
What the fuck happened? How did they blow this? How do all of your pitchers suddenly forget how to field their position at once? Did they THROW the series?
I guess I havent really thought about it the months since, with the Bears great season to distract me. But now that its almost baseball season, I find that I'm still in utter disbelief that the Cardinals are the champs.
I look at them this year, with essentially the same shitty team they had last year. To me, they look like the 4th best team in the division.
I should probably put some money on them in Vegas...
