I like it better without whatever face is on the dog. :P
Anyone here will agree that this kind of time for a non violent crime is absurd. However, if 3 years is the complete sentance, it's much lighter than I was expecting. As others have said, I thought perhaps he'd not see the light of day in at least a very very long time. 1.5 years of actual time for a stupid mistake like that isn't justice, but it could have been much worse.
"Or are the 3 years for carrying the mushrooms and he's due to be sentenced for what was found at his home on the 16th?"
I wonder that too. If so, I likely take back much of the previous comment.

He got the three years via a plea deal. So despite the fact that he hasn't been sentenced yet he already knows what his sentence will be because of the plea deal.
