I know this is probably a dumb question but I was wondering if a mushroom high is anything like a marijuana high?

The only similarity i can find. Is sometimes you think just as weird as on mushrooms. But its so rare.
They are two totally different effects man. Most people pot smokers are surprised when they do mushrooms for first time.

I agree, no comparison. On the smallest doses of mushrooms, they still are nothing like being high for me.
I smoked weed for years, and then I did mushrooms.
I hardly ever smoke weed anymore, but I find myself day dreaming about when I'll next get to eat mushrooms.

only reason I am asking is because I can smoke pot and feel fine before hand, I'll have a good clear mind then I smoke and I get paranoid as shit outta nowhere. Unless I take a pill before I smoke its like a 50/50 chance I might get paranoid. I think maybe its just the high that makes me that way and I wanted to know if mushroom gave somewhat of the same high as pot.

the highs are both completely different. however when I start to come up on mushrooms I can almost compare the feeling to being very stoned.

Mushrooms are much better than weed. The come up feels the same, as jawsh said, very dazed sort of feeling, but then things become much more amazing. I feel much happier than with weed, and less of depressed let's take a nap feeling.

The body high someone with a lower tolerance gets with weed, is simmilar but intesified x5 - x10 times depending your dossage. The visuals are nothing like some people claim with weed.
If you are paranoid when you smoke weed, then maybe you need to put yourself in a better enviorment when you choose to get high.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT EATING MUSHROOMS!!!
Don't go to the mall and try to shoplift with your friends on your first mushroom high. Don't go anywhere public prefereably.
You want to be with only a few people who are your true friends and in a place where no sober people can burst in and disrupt your euphoric venture.
So if you don't have an empty house to do shrooms at.... then you should go into the woods/forest/desert or somewhere away from the public and society.
I live in the woods so it's just a few steps out the door for me. But if you have to drive, give yourself enough time, pack properly, and don't drive fucked up. Its alot different then weed, though i don't recomend that either.
Mushrooms are a great thing, don't abuse them, and this means respecting the rules of tripping. Bad trips suck, and after you have one you will try to learn alot more about how NOT to have one. It would be a horrible thing for you to have a bad experiance your first time and never experiance the true power and hapiness the mushrooms provide.
-PS when you buy mushrooms or receive mushrooms from someone you don't know or trust......... You are essentially trusting that person with your life.
Find a credible source, or learn to pick correctly
and if your paranoid then post a pic on the shroomery and we will let you know what you are about to consume.
