No recreational value, if that's what you're looking for.

no first-hand exp., but I've known a few adults who have had it prescribed to them. It seemed to level them out some, but not always. Different levels/ranges on different days.

I don't know if it was prescribed on its own or conjunction with other anti-depressants, though, so that may play a large role.

p.s. wikipedia is stupid and people shouldn't rely on it unless they want the most general info

I don't know why so many do.

Because it's free, and relatively accurate.

I wouldn't use it for life-risking information, but I mean, christ, it's fucking free.

I know a lot of people who are prescribed to lithium for bipolar disorder. It really depends on the person, in terms of how it helps them, and how they react to it. The people I knew would constantly try to stop taking their medication, which would wind up turning into a disastrous situation. My ex boyfriend's mother was prescribed lithium and used to constantly just pass out on the couch, and always forgot to pick his little sister up from school...she was only like 10, and her teachers would have to drive her home and stuff. I guess if you take it as directed it can be very helpful, but you need to not STOP taking it when you feel normal again. And not take too much of it.

When I was kid in high school, my family doc was always giving
lithium out. Did not do anything for me. I don't think its worth wasting your time on.
Find a better doctor.

I don't have any expericene of lithium (btw, I think its lithium carbonate, or is it lithium carbide?)

but I would like to say was banging somone on tricyclics; she was so friendly & mostly happy all the time; in the end thats what sucked the fun out of the relationship. She was easy, and always that happy little zombie.... no ups, no downs, no passion!

i'd still bang her though  infact, we might be meeting up for dinner soon.

I've used lithium before. I highly recommend it. Nothing works better for metal on metal lubrication than good old lithium grease!

a really good friend when i was growing up had this mother who was all bipolar and super alky to top it off. she was on lithium for a year or so; and, i mean, she at least didn't flip the fuck out all the time, and she quit drinking. but she quite seriously turned into an emotionless fembot. she had always been a bitch to me, so i didn't really care, but i felt horrible for her son and his little brother
