Quitting the cig?
    #6374640 - 12/15/06 04:36 PM (1 year, 11 months ago)

I haven't smoked in nearly three weeks and I was almost a pack a day smoker. I don't know where I'm going with this. I just gave up as a little test to see how addicted I was. It's going okay but I do think about smoking a lot. There are a lot of moments when I really miss them. I also have a hard time sleeping these last weeks, but I don't know if it's the not smoking or just me.
I've also quit smoking weed which I plan to keep up at least till we finish our next grow (~4 weeks). I don't want to pay $23 an 1/8th for it again :smirk:

I am drinking a lot more alcohol though.

Oh well I'll see where it goes.

Any other active quitters here?

I've just quit smoking cigs too it's been 2 weeks exactly...
I used to smoke about 10 a day max.
Generally it was about 5-8 a day though.

I feel really good about quitting!

Keep up the good work and don't return to your old ways!!

I'm a quitter too, the thought can pop into your head to smoke at almost any time, but I try to think of how it made my chest hurt when I would exercise and how run-down i would feel when I smoked.
I also used to get bad headaches and I haven't in a long time, I think they may have been related to smoking.
It also helps to think of it as a you-vs.-the-tobacco-companies antagonistic situation when you feel like getting a pack.
+5 to the quitters

The only bad health effect I've noticed was that I sometimes had this gruesome deep cough.
Also people say that the smell of smokers is so bad, but I don't really notice that, not even now that I haven't smoked in a while. I only really notice it on heavy smokers.

To all you quitters; Is this your first time quitting or have you tried before?
And good luck to you too.

thanks gnrm23 you just inspired a new seed order...

Gnawing on Licorice root and drinking Lotus tea is way better than stupid cigs and beer.

 i found this to be the most successful tool for quitting smoking. well, it worked for a few months at least; eventually i started smoking again - but chewing the root and just playing with it a bit really helped to ease the oral fixation that often accompanies a tobacco addiction.

also smoking mullen helps to ease the mental craving, plus it serves as a hardcore expectorate

I started to roll my own to ween myself off buying packs.

I eventually got so damn tired of rolling I just quit smoking it. I then would only smoke if someone would give it to me.

Hardest thing I ever done, but well worth it. You will eventually unlearn the associations that went along with smoking, just takes time.

its all in your head, i swear i smoke when i want to, i dont NEED it, i can go without a cigarette for weeks without side effects without trouble, or withdraw. Remember its a psco addiction and more habit than addiction, the easy and convenient accessibility is what makes it so easy to continue
