how long can i keep shrooms at room temperature (in a closet) for before they go bad and are no good?

A couple months... Depends on certain conditions.
If you need to store them, put them in freezer bags and freeze them (dried).

cant freeze them, i gotta be 'sneaky like ninja'... that being said, any thing opinions on room temperature? lol

lol i cant turn the heat off, because im at my dads house and it might be a little suspicious and i know my sister would end up cranking the heat

hide them in a garage or a shed or something.. if ur in a colder climate.

thats kind of what i was thinking ...seeing as it is like -5 right now ....good ol canada.. but we still dont have snow

LOL, colder/warmer has little/no effect
since this someone is worried about pops finding their stash, I doubt they are worried about the effects of slight temperature differences.
Properly dry mushrooms, in any bag, storage at normal room temperature and humidity, last years with no/little loss of potency...
moist/wet/not-dry mushrooms, in any bag, can/will rot or grow mold

On that note, I've got some shrooms that I've had for two years now... I think this'll be the third year. I haven't even checked on them LOL
