mono tub rye to straight coir *update*

was spawned about 3 weeks ago. Questionable spawn was used to spawn to straight coir, with a little bit of calcium carbonate.
i started seeing some pins yesterday. the sub is not 100% colonized. I'd say it is somewhere between 65-80%.
This was just an experiment as opposed to tossing the spawn, that probably accounts for the colonization stall. the spawn was originally birthed and cased then incubated. the casing layer became contaminated with a bacterial contamination. Had that very strong sweet/sour smell. Rather then tossing them i scraped the casing layer, treated with 1/100 bleach water and let the myc recover under heavy FAE. The myc looked totally recovered on the top of the sub after about 3 days. I then recrumbled and spawned to the pasteurized coir at about a 1:5 ratio in a mono tub. At first it colonized very fast. then began stalling as the surface approached 100% colonization. About 11 days later i began to see some pins. Opened it up to take some pics and give it a bit of FAE, sprayed down with a little 1/10 h2o2 and water. I then wiped down some of the excess condensation on the sides of the tub to help lower the humidity a bit; I re-covered the tub and put it back in the grow room.
Pics:
near 100% colonization on top. Lots of knotting, about 15-25 pins/primordia throughout.

Here's some pins/knotting pics. I was really surprised how much knotting i got with absolutely no FAE up until these pics were taken.
As i said this was an experiment. I believe the non-ideal spawn caused my stalling. I don't know how these pins will develop since the sub is not 100% colonized. Also I'm watching closely for contams. ATM there is no visual sign of contam. Also no smell other then the normal earthy smell. I'll keep ya all updated. I also have another mono setup in a pail using the same low quality spawn. It seems to be colonized a bit better. I think i see a few pins beginning, when i am sure, I'll take a look and post some pics. The pail also doesn't seem to have as much knotting.
I really want to see a successful mono grow with straight coir. I will also try again when i have spawn ready to go. I encourage any of you guys experimenting with coir mono tubs to keep us updated.

NO DONT
you didnt read his post did you ? hes getting pins, if he cases now and happens to "bury" and suffocate the pins, they could abort and start to decompose therefor causing contamination and loss of the entire susbtrate.
