A friend of mine inoculated a mycobag about a month ago, its pretty much completly colonized, except for a thin layer of rye grain at the surface.
The problem is, it took so long I think its dried out, and just not looking too healthy. There's some blue patches, but i think thats where ive been poking at it.
Anyway, its supposed to be pre-sterilised, I added the casing layer last night, and was just wondering if anyones heard of a mycobag getting contaminated/drying and not yielding anything.
Last question, can a contaminated bag still produce shrooms?

You just poured some caseing into the top of the bag?
Yes, mycobags can dry and and get contaminated like anything else.
Sometimes you can still fruit them even with a load of contams, but its usally not happening...
