Comic books

Is anyone still into comic books? I used to read a bunch of ninja turtle ones and x-men ones back in the day. Never too hardcore, because it was hard getting them in the mountains, but I had them nonetheless.
What I'm really looking for is like, an archive of comic books online I can read. You know like those tv show archive sites? Speciffically, I'm looking for X-Men and other Marvel series.
I wonder what the comic book scene is like these days? It was such an awesome medium back then. Has it fallen into that "ran out of ideas and everythings to overdone" stage? I hope not.

I was never really into them but I did have a few when I was younger. I can however say that I like Spawn... i started get into it just because I loved the art work style.

there's still some excellent stuff coming out of Marvel these days. Specificially, the Ultimate Universe. Its a reworking of some of Marvel's best loved characters in different monthly titles. Essentially, the characters are the same, but tweaked enough that its interesting.
I would start with a series called "The Ultimates" which is essentially a reworked "Avengers" for grownups. It's extremely well written and drawn, and I believe they've anthologized the first three volumes, soon to be four. My personal fav, but there's also Ultimate: Spider Man, X-Men, Fantastic 4, Daredevil and maybe a couple others.

I have a bunch of darkness, ascension, and fathom books.
I still enjoy reading them.

Three names for you: Alan Moore, Frank Miller, and Neil Gaiman.
Read Neil Gaiman's Sandman series, its fucking insanely good.
Franky Miller did Sin City of course, but also Batman: Dark Knight Returns, and others.
Alan Moore...forget about it, he's done everything. Created the Constantine character for Hellblazer, as well writing fucking everything from V for Vendetta to From Hell, to the Watchmen. He's epic

i think some of them have great storylines and plots. especially x-men. but i just dont really have the patience to sit down and read them issue by issue and let the plot unfold. i especially wouldnt want to pick any of the classic ones in like their 2000th issue, not really knowing whats going on.

I like a book called Transmetropolitan. The main character is a futuristic Hunter Thompson type.

Ah I used to love comic's as a kid. I would always try and copy the artstyle.
A good portion of my comics are ruined though because a banana exploded in my backpack when I brought them to school one day (this is like 10 years ago)
Yeah I had a bunch of early Spawn, some Spiderman, X-Men.

i enjoy comics to some degree still.
i mostly do trade paperbacks, although i will pick up a regular book here or there.
currently i am on a B.P.R.D kick, which is a Hellboy spin off.
as for artists, i like erik larsen, frank miller, mike mignola, mark silvestri, and a few others as well. i pick up a lot of random stuff at the annual comic convention too, mostly trade paperbacks that are drawn cool.
