Anybody used NetFlix around here? pretty good deal? Im thinking about joining with the 4 dvd at-a-time plan. You get four in the mail, send them back, and get four more off of your list...sounds fucking awesome

Yeah I use netflix a ton. The 3-dvd-at-a-time plan is more worth it IMO unless you're really gonna watch that many that one extra is worth an extra 6 bucks to you.

My parents use it, and at some point I want to, because Blockbuster just isn't worth it, and we watch a lot of movies over at my place.
Until then I'll just have to keep forcing my parents to put my movies on their list and randomly heading to their house to grab movies.

Netflix is great. I like their selection more than anything else about them - lots of stuff you will not find anywhere else. They used to do this thing though, to customers who rented a lot and sent them back quickly, called like "sniping" or something. There was a big lawsuit. They were purposely delaying shipping more DVDs to people who rented a lot, because they weren't making any money. That's illegal though, since they specifically say how long it will take them to send them out, and that the rentals are unlimited. My boyfriend and I get 2 DVDs at a time, and usually send em back the next day...and get 2 more. My boyfriend just rips them onto his computer and we watch them when we feel like it So we probably wind up owning about 30 new movies per month, for however much the 2 DVD plan is. If you're getting netflix, it's worth it to invest in a DVD burner.

Netflix is awesome... We also rip the movies. BTW, you can setup accounts for seperate people, but they have to ship to the same address... But the movies are addressed to whoever's list they come from.
I setup accounts for my friends, and we all have seperate lists, shipped to the same address.

Hell yeah, this is one of the best deals out there. I'm on the 2 DVD's at a time, and a buddy of mine is getting 3 at a time. I've watched a ton of movies i've never seen so far, and my queue is about 300 movies long :-D
You can also get stuff you wouldn't think at first, like UFC and various series from TV. I can't wait for that show Eureka to come out, i'm gonna get all those for sure.

i love netflix but the turnaround time fucking sucks for my area. Ill get a movie in, send it back, they get it THREE days later and i get a new movie in another THREE days.
One business day my ass. I've never seen a movie come in one day, but besides that i love the service. The selection is pretty much unbeatable and not having to worry about late fees is awesome.

I love it, but unfortunately someone stole 2 DVD's out of my mailbox last week when I was returning them. The mailman left a note in my box saying it was empty even though the flag was up... I hope my house isn't marked now by some Netflix con artist. In the meantime I guess I'll return them at a post office drop box, but that makes the whole thing more inconvenient...
Other than that complaint, which is sort of not Netflix's problem, I love it! Great selection, lots of documentaries and international flicks, I don't have cable so I get TV series and burn them, and the turnaround time is great for me. I do the 3 at a time and it works out really well.

The mailman is obviously stealing your movies.
That sux, but if you get them on tape, it's a federal crime and you can press some serious charges. Most people forget that mailboxes are covered by tough federal laws... bastards.

One of my good friends rents xbox 360 games with a company like netflix and ripes them. Then sends the game back to them the next day.
